Ibiza, Tivioli Aparthotel Playa Den Bossa May23 to 30th 2008 We booked All Inclusive but when we got there we were told that it doesnt start doing it until the 1st of June when the big clubs open (Space, Bora Bora) but yet nothing was said when booking a month prior. We were offered a voucher to go to a sister hotel or go to one 2mins away and get the band for all inclusive which we took. The only thing was it was nearly all italian guests. We also booked a one bedroom apartment but again this place doesn't even have , Just studios which were immaculate and the cleaning was everyday with fresh linen and towels. The staff were helpful and pleasant but sorry won't be back.

Arrived in the early hours and walking into the "foyer" was like rolling up to a youth hostel. Went out the front of the hotel and into a side entrance to go up to our room on the 5th floor and the lift - complete with plenty of graffiti - wouldn't open on that floor so it was lug the suitcases down from the sixth floor. The stairwells were darkly lit and the steps were broken at points - so not the safest of maneouvres. The corridor between the rooms had electricity saving lights - ie you have to push a button to get the lights to come on for a certain amount of time to see your way - but not all the buttons work so you have to walk along the corridor until you find one that does. Given the location of the hotel too, means that the corridor is littered with all sorts of food/rubbish the residents throw around. The room wasn't the cleanest - with hairs on the bedding; lightbulbs not working etc. Also, the air con/tv doesn't work unless you leave a deposit at the front desk to get the controls - they can't trust their residents!! The floors in the rooms are tiles which overall is no bad thing but when the people above you scrape their chairs it can be noisy so take your ear plugs. The rooms are spacious however and if all you are looking for is somewhere to crash your head after partying, it would probably be fine - especially if you got it at an ok price. I think it is fine for groups wanting to party but that's it. Spend just a wee bit more and go somewhere else would be my advice if you are anyone but a group.

Stayed at Tivoli for two weeks, half board. Apartments basic but very clean - serviced every day. Good variety of food - something to suit everyone. Great location with beach, shops, pubs and restaurants on doorstep. Hotel also used by Italian tour operator, with their reps working here, therefore ALL entertainment is geared towards Italian holidaymakers - although my two young children did not seem to notice the language barrier and joined in anyway!. We found the reps were quite rude, and if you were not Italian you did not even merit a hello or good morning. However all in all we had a great stay here and would return.

Myself(23) and 3 (originally 4)of my female friends stayed at the tivoli in Ibiza for 8 days, and booked it through Expedia. I have no complaints about the area, I love Ibiza, and have been there many times, Playa D'en Bossa is a great area, within 15/20 minute taxi from san antonio for all the clubs and the strip, and a 10 minute taxi drive to the old town, which has a great market, food, amazing docks with huge yachts. Before the holiday, I rang Expedia to remove one person from the booking, and twice to check that we definately had 2 rooms next to eachother on the same floor (which I put as an option whilst booking online) HOWEVER Expedia have obviously not updated their general information on this hotel, as when we arrived (Expedia say that check in is noon....12 midday) it was actually 2pm, and stated so at reception. We had to wait around for 4 hours for our rooms to be ready with all our luggage. Eventually we were given one room to put all of our things into. We were unsure when we got in the room, if this was actually going to be one of our rooms we would be staying in....as it had no balcony, was quite small (expedia state all rooms come with balcony) it had a small window, there was nowhere to hang towels etc to dry, as the window was so small and only opened half way. The rooms are layed out like so....there is a main door for one key to open, then there are 2 rooms within this, also with front doors. One is for 3-4 people with balcony/kitchenette, and the other, the pokey one. Basically we were put down the other end of the corridor to eachother (there were 2 girls in each room) and we both had the pokey style room, with no balcony or phone. We complained, but reception said it was nothing to do with them, and they were fully occupied and could not move us whatsoever, even when we said can we have one with a balcony due to one girl smoking. On the plus side, the air con was lovely, as there was no air in there due to no balcony, the bathroom was quite ok considering, and it was regularly cleaned and towels changed, sometimes every day, sometimes every other day. There ws also a small fridge, so we could keep our water cold. At Reception, they needed 2 passports over night...god knows why, they did not ask for a deposit. We paid 20 euros deposit for the air con and tv remote controls. The pool is what you'd expect for the price we paid, we spent every day on the beach (but there was an oil spill when we were there, so could'nt go in the sea all the time!) I advise you to go on the glass bottom boat over to formentera, you would'nt believe it unless you saw it, the sea is so lovely it's like you are in the caribbean. Take some food and drink, and have a picnic as food is expensive there. It's a bit random, you get dropped off on a rock...but over the other side it's lovely. Overall we were unhappy there was no balcony, but we paid £200-odd for 8-9days, the holiday was what we made it, we used the hotel purely to sleep. The entertainment (which was what our teeny windows faced) was itialian, but we kept ourselves to ourselves, went out of the hotel all the time, and had a good time. would not stay there again, I would much prefer the bossa mar complex, which is down the other end of the beach, its lively, more english, had bora bora beach bar. Go to this hotel if you don't mind Italians shouting at you (if you're a young girl) annoying children's music repeated daily whilst getting ready, the chance of no balcony. We realise we paid peanuts, but we have paid less before in tenerife, benidorm, and have had large rooms with balconies and kitchenettes.

Was very pleased when I arrived at the Tivoli. After travelling at night with a child it was great to arrive somewhere that was clean and comfortable. The best feature of this hotel was the location to the beach, the resort centre and the airport, it couldn't have been better. Our room was spacious and comfortable and we had all we needed, the breakfast was great however I found that in the evening the restaurant didn't really cater for kids. The only thing I can fault the hotel on would be the swimming pool, it could have been cleaner but as I said it is so close to the beach that it doesn't really matter. I loved the Tivoli and think that it offered fantastic value for money!! It's much better than others of it's star rating. Loved It!!

After booking these apartments on-line I was quite concerned after reading other peoples experiences at The Tivoli on this website - alot of people arrived to find they had not been booked/overbooked but on arrival at 12:30am I was pleased to find that we did have a booking and a room with a seaview. The apartments are comfortable and of a good size - location was good too - beach/shops/buses etc all very close - also close too just along the beach is a taxi boat which is great for travelling back and forth to Ibiza town, it takes about 15 minutes and is great because at certain times of the day the buses are just too crowded (sometimes they just don't stop as they are too full!) also you get a great view of Ibiza town on the taxi boat. (Pinnochios restaurant in Ibiza town is a great place to people watch and have dinner!). The maid service was fantastic - we were there for 11 nights and they serviced the rooms everyday. It is true that the entertainment is geared to the Italian guests but I did not find this to be a problem as I was not looking to the hotel to provide my entertainment. Reception was probably the only slight downside as there were times when I needed some help and I thought they could of done a bit more but I think it was probably more because of the slight language barrier than unhelpfulness. I think these apartments were amazing value - it doesn't have 5 star facilities and if thats what you want then thats what you need to pay for elsewhere - we stayed from June 11th for 11 nights and paid £250 - just over £60 each for 4 people staying for 11 nights in a good hotel in a good location - I would definately recommend and stay at The Tivoli apartments again.

I stayed in Aparthotel Tivoli for the May Bank holiday last May 2007. I booked it via Expedia and I was quite scared after I red all the bad reviews about that place. Actually my boyfriend and I were very pleased with it. It is not a luxurous hotel of course but it is a very quality hotel for what you pay. We arrived at 2.30am to the hotel, the reception is open 24-7 and we got our room. It is quite basic but spacious and above all it is very clean! The beach (Playa d'en Bossa) is 5min walk from the hotel and you can walk to Ibiza town along the marina. There is a lot of bars (Bora Bora beach) and restaurants very close to it. I think if you are going to Ibiza and you are looking for a cheap but quality place to stay, you should definitely go there!

My family have just returned from Ibiza and the Tivoli Aparthotel in playa den bossa and unfortunately thought that previous reviews were just by people having a moan. Sadly not true! We (my wife and 4-year old son) arrived very early in the morning. Reception staff were efficient and generally helpful. The room itself, although basic was a good size and we had a balcony, however we were 7 floors up so always pretty wary of our son's movements. Please note that not all rooms have balconies so check first. It will cost you more! And now onto the worst part...the food. We went half board, which was breakfast and evening meal, but after only two days of this we ate out most nights at our own additional cost as the timing, standard and selection of food was very poor indeed. Some people we spoke to went without as it was The evening meal was not available until; 8.00pm, so if travelling with children, beware as this will be too late for most. Plus the staff stand over the buffet like a military coup, which, for us (and others) was very offputting. The food itself is very basic. Not even up to what you'd expect from club standards The good things about the tivoli is that it is situated very close to the beach and other Playa Den Bossa ameneties, activities and eateries, which although provide basic menus - (chips with everything) is at least edible and fairly cheap. There is no entertainment and it says there is pingpong and other facilities for entertaining but unfortunatly these were unavailable. With regard to customer service in Play Den Bossa, don't hold too high expectations. local businesses want (need) your money but in return, give you an average to poor level of service that you will find very annoying and frustrating. On more than one occassion, in various shops, my wife and I were followed by store staff who obviously consider all tourists to be probable thieves. And at best they seemed to tolerate young children. As far as Ibiza goes. A great place. Particularly Ibiza Town (10 minutes away by bus) which has a good mix of history, locally made souveniers and eateries. So without being a pain in the trumpet... Would we go back to the tivoli Aparthotel - No way, unless they hired decent chefs (anybody can make a buffet trays with slices of bread rolls, cheese, ham and over-boiled eggs) and change their catering staff, a potentially good hotel if structured more efficiently. Would we go back to Ibiza - Perhaps, But probably to En Casa, which is further North and is a great little coastal town with idylic beaches, the hippy market and which has a good selection of shops and family activities. To add I would just like to say that the cleaning staff at the Tivoli were BRILLIANT. Friendly, accommodating and very efficient. Probably the best team in the hotel. If you are looking for a boozy week or two where you can throw your hard earned money at people who don't give a sh** about you, only your EURO then go fot it. For others a little more disconcerning....give it a miss!

tivoli aparthotel playa den bossa ibiza date 14/05/2007 reviewer andy and lindsey uk just returned today from the tivoli after a five night stay.where do we start! we checked in and went to our room. we discovered that we had no balcony, which has always been 'as standard' any other holiday to spain. we asked reception, they told us they could move us at an extra cost of 10 euros per night! we stayed on an all inclusive basis, on arrival we were given wrist bands but tried charging us for drinks at the bar. i have stayed all inclusive at many other hotels, in the past we have recieved 3 meals a day, unlimited drinks until a set time, and snacks etc. meals times were given two hours slots times but if you were not there within the hour nothing was left . there was no choice of food which was the same everyday i could go on about the bad things about this hotel but it would take for ever this is my second visit to playa den bossa the place is beautiful and will be returning sometime in the near future but never staying at the tivoli again!

Stayed at the tivoli august 2005.Booked it pretty late and was worried that it might not be too good because it was cheap.I needn't have worried the place was spotless with 24 hour reception which was handy as we checked in,in the middle of the night. The hotel is basic and yeah the decor does look like ikea on a bad day but at least it has had a lick of paint. The rooms were spacious and the A/C in the living area and bedrooms is a godsend.Kitchen area very basic but for what you cook on holiday was sufficient. The big plus for this hotel was the helpful staff and the cleanliness.I had a problem with the cooker ring and a man was sent and fixed it within 5 minutes he also showed me how to operate the A/C.I know its sad but I counted 13 cleaners from my balcony one morning, pretty impressive for a budget hotel. Its well placed for the beach(5 mins walk) the Bora Bora beach bar is lively and the reggae bar near where you catch the boat taxi to Ibiza town is great for just chilling.Overall I can recommend this hotel if you want a comfortable place to crash and enjoy the beach life during the day(the dance music played all day by the pool did get on your nerves) but if you're looking for some luxury and to be pampered you better look elsewhere.

Arriving at the Tivoli at 4am four tired adults and four tired kids aged from 10-15 only to find the room not available was not an experience i care to repeat. i had read previous reviews albeit after i had booked and paid, so decided to ring the company i had booked through, i mentioned my concerns only to be told that i woukd receive a call without fail if there was any such problem!. So off we went happy (so we thought ) in the knowledge that no news is good news. when we had arrived at the Tivoli we went straight to reception where we were told there was a problem with the water and that we were being put in the Noria (now that place is another story). having just paid for the two taxi's from the airport and reading previous reviews i insisted that they would pay for two more taxi's to transfer us and our luggage and by now four miserable tired kids. although the noria can be seen from the tivoli dragging cases and kids 200 yards up the road at 4.15am was a no go from the start, they did order and pay for the taxi's and off we went. at 8am i was back at the tivoli after a short and very unpleasent stay at the noria where there was no air con and a foul stench and a plague of mosquito, to enquire as to what was happening to our two elusive apartments. i was told that we would have the key to at least one of them by 11am so after breakfast we did infact receive the key to the one and by two o'clock we had the other, although the water was never to appear in the kitchen in the 2nd apartment. it didnt ruin the holiday although little things like the pool not being cleaned out and the rather rude night staff didnt help but i would definately say if you are arriving at night be prepared to have an onward journey for at least the first night and good luck

My girlfriend and I booked our annual holiday with Expedia. We arrived at the Tivoli late at night after travelling all day, then were told that our accommodation was unavailable. They shuttled us off to the Mare Nostrum hotel and to a room which was not up to the same standards as the one we booked in the Tivoli. The staff at the Tivoli did not even book us a taxi to take us to the Mare Nostrum. Instead we were taken to the Mare Nostrum in the Janitors car. It had dirty beach towels on the seats! Can you believe that! The next morning I was able to resolve the problem with help from Expedia and we got our room at the Tivoli, albeit after a lot of phonecalls, distress and aggravation. Judging by the other reviews on this site the Tivoli hotel are systematically over booking their accommodation to ensure that they operate at capacity for maximum profit. To be honest the room and facilities were good once we eventually got our room but I wouldn't stay here again as I have no confidence that there would actually be a room waiting for me when I arrived. Who needs that on the first day of their holiday?

I say "Terrible" but in all truth we never got to find out. We booked 3 months in advance, and reconfirmed it the day before going only to be told on arrival that we couldn't stay there as it got double booked the week before (why weren't the late bookers bumped somewhere else?) they proceded to move us to a lower rated hotel with no compensation. Surfice to say we won't be booking through ibiza-hotels again.

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Tivoli Apartments for a week from 17th-24th June. Even though they are pretty basic, they are fairly spacious (much larger than many of the other places I've stayed in Ibiza) with TV and air conditioning. Our air conditioning wasn't working, but after reporting this to reception it was fixed the next day. The location of the apartments is very good - a minute's walk from the beach and the shops and about 10 minutes walk from Bora Bora and Space. We booked the Tivoli apartments through expedia for about £140 for the whole week which was absolutely fantastic value for money. Didn't use the pool there so, I can't comment on that, but if you want a good base that's ideally situated for the beach, the bars and everything else that Ibiza has to offer, then I would definately recommend Tivoli.

Was quite worried about these apartments after reading some previous reviews but when we arrived in the middle of the night we had no problems with our booking at all. We had 3 apartments booked each for 4 people. The apartments were basic but very comfortable however with only 2 rings and a fridge it would be very difficult to cater for 4 people. The apartments and pool were clean and there were plenty of sunbeds and some parasols. There is a small supermarket on the site with bars and shops close by. Opposite is Graham and ?Lisa's bar where the food was good (much better than paying for breakfast in the apartments that at 5.50 euro was not worth it) The beach is close and Ibiza Town is only 10 minutes away by taxi costing 10 euros each way. We only paid £22 per night for each of the apartments and as far as I'm concerned these apartments were a bargain. As someone has said it can be quite lively at night and I probably wouldn't take children in high season.

very good localization, food delishous-every day dishes were similar, but it wasn`t problem for me.Rooms clean, all hotel well-preserred guestes and staff nice, helpful. It`s good place for everyone-for families to take a rest, for coupes to spending time in a romantic way. It`s also great for children and oldest people.Strongly recommend- I come back there next year!
Having arrived extreemley early in the morning we were horrified to be told "sorry no available rooms left ".Having just spent half the night traveling from England they were not the most welcome words.I explained that we had booked via an English tour company ,Suncentre, and placed a reservation at the Tivoli but the only answer given was you can't stop here its full. My only advice , if you want to stop here , don't book.

I reserved this hotel about 6 months in advance. When we showed up we were told that they had our reservation, but that they had already booked all of the rooms. I don't know if they understood that the point of making a reservation is to reserve a room. They shuttled us off to another hotel (Apartamentos Playa Sol II) which ended up being a lot farther away from where we wanted to stay and pretty unsatisfying. I will not reserve another hotel through Grupo Playa Sol.

We arrived as a group that had all booked their 4 rooms on the same day through the same website (expedia). I had called the hotel two days before to make sure the reservations were fine and to arrange for rooms on one floor at which point the person at the reception who spoke neither English, French or German told me in what little spanish I understood that there was no reservation at all. This was a little funny as I had already received a confirmation mail from the hotel. Recomfirmation with expedia who told me they had sent out another fax to them. On the day of arrival some reservations were there some weren't. So part of our group was put up in a hotel nearby for one night , were the rooms were even more basic than at the Fiesta Tivoli. Beds were terrible. If you are a couple and might consider sleeping together, forget it. The single beds are so flimsy that you spend all the time trying to push them back togeher. Rooms were very simple if spacious, furniture was old and tattered and looked like Ikea on a bad day. Cleanliness was ok, and the pool actually nice enough. To be fair some of the staff at the reception were trying to make an effort but some of them were simply inadequate and busier talking to their friends than taking care of guests. All in all a bargain at 55 Euro and the location is great for the clubs of playa d'en bossa but would definitely not stay here again.

nice staff, clean, spacious rooms with living room, kitchen and balcony. 7th floor with a view of the ocean is best. the noisy part comes when the InViaggi entertainers do their show for the Italian youth... loud music in the morns and the evenings. food is not the best, except for Paella night & bfast. easy access to the beach, though. 5-10 walk to Bora Bora and Space.

Please note before booking a stay at the Tivoli - If you are a light sleeper stay away from this place. The road outside is a racetrack for scooters, cars with stereos on full blast are driving up and down all night and most annoyingly the doors to the rooms do not have "swishers" so they bang like crazy, reverberating round the whole place. I was maybe unfortunate to stay when the place was full of young Italians, but it was unbearable. And by the way, I'm in my 20's and went to Ibiza for Pacha and Space, I am not a moaning oldtimer! On the plus side, although the rooms are shabby, they are of a good size with decent balconies, and the pool area is very clean. The Sat-TV is only good for Sky news and the air-con is average at best. John, September 2005

These apartments are very clean ( maid service every day) and the staff are so friendly it made our stay a holiday to remember, I envy anyone who has book to stay at the Tivoli Apartment because i think they take some beating.

We stayed at the Tivoli apartments in June 2004, we found then very clean and spacious. The apartments have separate bedroom, fridge, full gas cooker and most importantly air con. Having 2 small children we found that the balconies weren't a problem as they had high front and sides. It's the 4th time we has been to Playa D'en Bossa, but the first time self catering. The on site supermarket had excellent choice and the staff very friendly. We didn't eat in the on site cafe, but it did look clean and popular with other residents. Playa D'en Bossa is an excellent resort for families whatever taste you have, that's why we have booked to go back to the Tivoli apartments again in 2005. I would hesitate to recommend the resort or the accommodation.
