Other reviews are spot on. This is a great value clean friendly hotel. Within walking distance of the bay and the West End. Kanya bar and Sun sea bar are 2 mins walk away, both are much better spots than Cafe del Mar or Mambo to have the San Antonio Sunset experience. For a great couple of 'local' restaurants, Mestral is 5 mins walk away, and the nearest cafe/bar on the corner of the roundabout leading up to Abrat serves superb tapas, with an virtually exclusive local clientele. Highly Recommended.

Abrat is just past the sunset cafe's on the sunset strip. It is 3 minute walk to Kanya and another 8 minutes to Cafe Mambo and Cafe del Mar. Walk another 15 minutes and you are at the mad West End. If you want cheap and rough, don't book here. If you want reasonable value for money, good quiet position with classy sunst bars just a couple of minutes away this is for you. We love this hotel and have been back to it for several years. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the buffet food is adequate. The pool area is quiet and the bar serves lager in frozen 1/2 litre glasses, now that is called heaven. One year I looked up from my sun lounger to see Judge Jules visiting somebody laid on the sun bed next to me. Anyway, it's position is it's biggest plus. Near to classy bars next to the beach, just a bit further you have the madness of the West End but where you are lie on a day and stroll from on a night is as quiet as you need.

I've stayed in the Hotel Abrat twice, once through a package and once booking it independently and both visits have been excellent. The hotel's locations is excellent if you want to enjoy the bars and clubs of Ibiza but don't want to be surrounded by lager louts. Looking out onto Calle del Moro it is a short 5 minute walk from some excellent bars and restaurants such as Coastline and Cafe Mambo and if you really want to go to the very tacky west end then that's only about a 15 minute walk. The hotel itself is very clean and both times our rooms have had sea views without having to pay any extra. The rooms aren't huge but comfortably sleep 3 (with one on a camp bed). The food is fairly standard but both times we have been half board as have got fantastic deals and you can always eat there to save yourself some money before going out. There is a nice pool looking out to sea but it does get very hot round there as a perspex wall surrounds the pool to protect it from the sea breeze. The staff in the hotel are extremely friendly and will organise car hire, trips etc. if you need them too. I would definately stay at this hotel again and would recommend to anyone looking for a good base to explore from.

My parnter and I plus another couple (all in our mid 20's) stayed in the Abrat for a week in June last year. It was brill. The hotel is still decorated in 70s style but not a problem. It was clean. The restaurant food wasnt up to much at dinner time, we ate in there for two days then decided we would eat out. If you order during the day, sandwhiches, burgers etc they were ok. Its not that expensive to eat out and you get a better choice of food. The location is away form the west end and to get to the west end is about a 10 min walk, ok if like us you dont mind walking. There are a couple of bars along the new walk way, which takes you to cafe del mar and cafe mambo. The closest is one called Kanya bar. Great food and excellent views of the sunset. I would def go back and stay there again. (pictures are not clear when enlarged)

Stayed at the Abrat with 4 other girls...all 19...for a week beginning of August. Hotel was just what we wanted...clean, big rooms, comfy beds, air con!! Had a lovely sea view too!! Decor is something to be desired...bit 70's but no a big deal when all you want is somewhere clean and comfortable to sleep with a clean bathroom, tv etc. I would recommend this hotel to young clubbers...not really families as the pool during the day was dominated by big groups of clubbers blasting music from ipod speaker etc...few families were there when we were and looked a bit uncomfortable. Only made it down for the breakfast once on our last day and it was ok, fried breakfast option, or just cereal, toast, fruit the usual european stuff really. Hotels loaction is PERFECT TO CLUBBB!!! 10 minute walk to West End for cheap drinks to start the night and then cabs round the corner all reasonable prices to go to super clubs...about 20 minutes away. Beach is also only 2 minutes away and usually very busy. Had a fab time...although when trying to nap at 7/8 in the evening before going out always had loud music playing...can be quite annoying when you havent slept all week!! Overall Hotel was fab...sometimes staff were a bit rude especially the lady downstairs with the tattoo up her leg, but apart from that hotel used as a base was perfect!!

We found the hotel comfortable, all the staff (with one exception on reception) very friendly and helpful. The rooms were cleaned daily and clean towels provided every day. We know we didn't pay mega bucks for our holiday but we found the food in the evening lacking variety and the overall presentation poor, however, if you made breakfast that was good. We were disturbed at night by the clubbers coming in, especially one night about 3a.m. with music blaring above us, but on complaining to the night receptionist he acted immediately and the music stopped. We were on the first floor amongst it all so it might be worth requesting top floors for for a bit more peace and quiet. The pool was good and the gardens were lovely, very peaceful and lots of shade. The beach was on the doorstep but was very small and very busy - but nice enough. The nightlife is a bit of a walk, you can take the scenic route by the sea, bit of a trek though, or take the shorter route via the back streets. Taking everything into consideration on the whole it was a good hotel and holiday and you had the extra bonus of seeing the beautiful sunsets every night!

I had the opposite experience to the person below - everything about the hotel was excellent. We booked through travel republic and got an amazingly cheap rate for 10 days mid august half board. Yeah the food wasn't 5* but it was fine to eat most days provided you only wanted it as a casual meal and not a posh dinner out (and I am a fussy eater!) Breakfast wasn't really up to English tastes but again it was fine and the cafe by the pool did cheap food as an alternative. Our room had air con included and it was cleaned every day - in fact the maids were often waiting outside to get in and clean when we finally surfaced! They were chatty and pleasant, as were the bar and reception staff on the whole. The black out curtains are a bonus if you want to sleep during the day and the balconies in many rooms have great views of the sunset (request a high floor overlooking the pool). The location is fantastic - close to the sunset strip bars and a bit further to the west end. The hotel will also call taxis at most times for you to go further afield. The only thing I would say is that, as someone staying at the Abrat as a large group, the pool area isn't quiet and isn't really child friendly. It is a stones throw from a small beach though for a change of scenery. I'll be staying there again next year - 5 out of 5!

I cannot understand why people think this hotel is great?? It isnt the worst hotel in the world but for the money we paid I think it was appalling. The food in the restaurant was ok some nights and other nights quite disgusting. You have to pay even for water in the restaurant when you have half board. The reception staff were very rude. We stayed on a floor were people were playing music and banging doors at all hours. I came for a clubbing holiday but we at least had the courtesy to be quiet coming back in the morning to be quiet. You have to pay 7 euros per night for air conditioning and you do need it!! We only had our room cleaned one day which was disgusting and the reception staff were rude when I asked for clean towels. The location of the hotel is great though, its just enough out of the way to be quiet but walking distance into the centre. I would definitely not stay here again.

Hotel is in a great location, overlooking the bay and only a few minutes walk thro' the hotel garden to the beach. Our rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels and the hotel food was very nice indeed. Only 10 minute walk to cafe mambo, cafe del mar etc so you can watch the sunset and chill, then another 5 minutes to the west end. Good value!!

We have just had a most rewarding holiday in this wonderful hotel. It's not ultra modern for sure, but the atmosphere just made the holiday. There are lovely relaxing gardens - in itself a luxury these days. A nice sized pool witn table service. The breakfast was great along with the evening meal. There was absolutely no need to spend a small fortune on eating out as the food was that good. I love a nice pint of lager and I was totally stunned when I asked for a pint of San Miguel. The young lady who served me (Loli) took a 'frozen' glass from the freezer and served the pint with frozen froth - WOW!. You can only really appreciate this hotel by comparing it to one of the other bars on the island. Only then can you realise the fabulous value for money this hotel offers. And if you want a lively time then the Abrat is just a short walk from the fabulous SunSea Bar and Cafe Del Mar along the new promenade. Highly recomended!!!!!!!!!
Booked last minute with My Travel. Surprised when we picked up our tickets at the airport to be told that we had booked an 18/30 holiday as we are in our 60's! However, when we arrived at the hotel, we asked for a quiet room and were given one on the top floor. All youngsters were allocated rooms on the bottom 2 floors. We had an exceptionally peaceful holiday. The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and obliging. Breakfast was good, and the evening meal was O K, but chips were about the only form of potatoe available. We suppose that the youngsters preferred these! All in all an excellent hotel, which caters for both young and old, and we will certainly come back to this place again.

Returned yet again for a memorable stay, just on the outskirts of a bustling resort, far enough for quiet, near enough to be in the home of that special IBIZA nightlife and if you have kids then the gardens and pool are not crowded and yet safe with essential services and places to relax just there at hand, play tennis if you are of the mind, chill out, swim in the Med only a walk through the gardens. new air con and upgraded all weather features are a great asset. The management and staff are local and will with charm inform you of many local secret coves and lovers rendeavous. The Hotel is understated at two stars and I am not a hotel reviewer but it has excellent reception, two lifts, air con, restaurant, bar, swimming pool, very large garden wonderful for sunbathing near to your accomodation, 200 metres from the sea, kids love the proximity, tree shade in high summer, the chef is local and lovely but I suppose that if you go on holiday to the Med and want english food then you might have issue, my advise is do not go to the Med at all, YET beans on toast is available at a CAFE just 100 metres away. It really is a truly wonderful Mediterean and Ibiza experience.

Hotel Abrat is a great hotel. Me and boyfriend stayed there for a week and it was amazing. It was so hygienic and very cheap. The food there was gorgeous, there was loads of selection of meals and breakfasts. It was in a great location as it was a 10minute stroll to town which was nice as it wasnt too long but you were away from all the noise at night. The westend and town were the best. The nightclubs were brilliant, and Eden, Es Paradise and a few others were only 10 mins away. OUr hotel was a 5 minute walk to sunset strip which was beautiful and right in between our hotel and the town. We are definately thinking of coming next year as we had such a fantastic time.

Myself, boyfriend, sister and partner stayed at the Abrat for a week in Jul 06 and we absolutely loved it. Highlights include: - Location: Right next to the beach, Kanya (many of the club nites run buses from here, eg Cream at Amnesia) and the sunset strip. Quiet, but on the doorstep of the hustle n bustle. West End and San An Town 10 min walk. - Rooms: very clean (maid service daily), sky tv, direct dial phone, balcony - we opted for a seaview room at 3 euro per day - worth it for the stunning views. - Food: Brilliant - best food we've had in a hotel abroad - great variety and quality. - Staff: Very friendly and helpful - we even got presented with a farewell shot when we were waiting to be picked up. When we were there the majority of the guests were young, however there was also families and older folk. Overall the hotel Word of warning tho - check with your travel agent that you have opted for air conditioning in the price as we had to pay for this on arrival - 21 euros per room for the week. Defo required tho and worth it. We will definately be back!

Just back on Saturday from a week at the Abrat Hotel and we had a great time! Yeah, the hotel is stuck in a bit of a time warp decor wise, but it adds a kinda retro feel to the place and a unique identity. It should be celebrated rather then condemmed! Air-con is available at €6 a day, well worth the investment, and you can hire a fridge for the room too. Location is absolutely spot on - quiet enough at night, yet only minutes walk away from the "sunset strip". Food was of a very high standard and varied every night to suit all tastes. Staff were also great! This was my forth time to San An, and is the first hotel I felt matched the magic of the Island. 10 out of 10 for the Abrat

myself and my partner stayed at this hotel for 1 week at the end of june. when we arrived the staff were friendly and the hotel room was lovely and clean. the decor is stuck in the 70s however it is still lovely. the pool was cleaned every morning and the poolside was quiet. we found the food at the hotel really good as there was something different every night but they always had chips. the hotel was a pleasent place to stay and you could easily reach all the nightlife however it was chilled out in the day and relaxing would recommend this hotel and would go back again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Abrat for 1 week in June/July 2006. We found the hotel basic, but always clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The rooms were decorated in the bogstandard brown and cream of cheap hotels everywhere, but there was maidservice everyday, the room was clean and there were no bugs of any kind! We went half board. The food selection at breakfast was decent, with various cereals, cooked meats, cheeses and fried eggs, sausage, bacon and beans. Also croissants, dried fruit, fresh fruit juice and a coffee machine. Though all the food served at dinner was edible enough, if it wasnt deep fried, it wasnt on the menu! (slight exageration - soup and salad was available at the buffet every night). There was however a distinct lack of vegetables to accompany the main course, unless they had been drowned in grease. 5 nights out of 7 the only potatoes on the menu were chips. There was a good dessert selection though. We had to pay for air-conditioning once we got there (a neccesity when temperatures were mid-30's), this cost about 6 euros a day. The hotel is right on the outskirts of San Antonio. We liked the fact that we wern't subjected to clubbers hollering as they traipsed past! It was only a 20 minute walk down to the marina and shops. Cala des Moro is a small sandy beach beside the hotel, but is very crowded and quite rowdy. For something quieter, head away from San Antonio to Cala Gracio, a lovely cove with a lifeguard and snack bar. Its a 10 or 15 minute walk, just turn left when you exit the hotel through the front door. Or you can catch a water taxi from the marina in San Antonio out to Cala Bassa - the most beautiful beach ever! Hotel clientel was a strange mix. 30% older couples,10% families with young children and 60% clubbers. Hardly saw the ravers though - they were fast asleep during breakfast and we spent the day out and about. Do have to say though, that 'dressing for dinner' isnt essential at the Hotel Abrat - saw a bright young thing eating in towelling shorts so short you could see her bum cheeks (but maybe you're into that sort of thing!) Anyway, it was cheap, cheerful and clean. Not a hotel where i'd want to spend my days lounging by the pool (its not that big and populated by hungover clubbers), but perfect as a base for exploring the island.
Myself and my partner stayed at the Abrat for 2weeks. When we arrived we was taken back by the decor, seemed like a time zone. It was very clean but stuck in the 70,s. The food was great but for 1 day but can't complain 13 out of 14 nights is good. Plenty of choice each evening but same breakfast each day,( cereal, cooked breakfast). Pool was small and clean but boy was it cold n salted! Made the most of it anyway, ok once ya got over shock of getting in! Reception was very friendly and always on hand. Lost our room card and not a complaint or charge for new 1. Cleaners came in each day leaving rooms spotless and so tidy. The only down side was its position from west end pubs and the main clubs. We could either chance walking 10mins over pitch black waste ground to get back at night or walk the main streets way which took about 20mins. (plenty of taxi's around if ya prefare) There was a plus to that though it was very quiet at night. On the whole we enjoyed our holiday. Decent food, clean rooms, pool and plenty of sun,sea and............relaxing!!!!!!!! can't ask for more than that. ( Would take my 2 young children to hotel but not San Antonio its self, mainly for the young and the party scene)

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the Abrat during the last week of September and as soon as we got to our hotel we found the reception staff to be very welcoming and very helpful. The rooms are very basic but very clean and where cleaned every day. I was very suprised by how quiet it was around the pool it was never busy which made it more relaxing. The bar staff where very fvriendly as where the waiters and waitresses in the resturant. Food was excellent aswell. Nice little tennis court aswell and very cheap to play. Very nice beach at the back of the hotel.

I have just come back from staying at the Abrat with not really knowing what to expect. Very pleased with everything - very spacious clean reception area and friendly staff, food area very pleasant - food quite good some days some days not so good, but you can't have everything! Rooms were really clean and maids came round regularly to clean your room. This hotel is situated just a 5 min walk from Kanya excellent situation a little bit out of the heart of it so if your wanting to chill out you can do this at the Abrat, I have stayed in the heart of San An before which was far too rowdy round the pool so if you want a bit of both lively hol if you want it and also to get away to chill through the day then this hotel is defo for you. Defo recommend it and defo would go back. 8/10

I have stayed at the Abrat a couple of times, and think it's great value. The rooms are basic, but very clean and they've now installed air-con, so also very comfortable. Yes, the hotel decor is kitch 1970s style, but I think that's quite charming, and is clean and neat - nothing tatty! The staff are smashing, and nothing is too much trouble. I would definately recommend the Abrat, whether young or old (my parents join us there, and they're in their 70s - though don't go clubbing or hang around very long in the West End!!). Lovely conservatory, good service and delicious bacon and cheese toasties. Going back in 2006 for sure.

Just come back from staying at The Hotel Abrat. Myself + my friend both 19 loved it. The hotel is stuck in the seventies big time with regards to decor and when we first arrived we did need to run the bath tap for a few mins to clear the pipes!! But other than that it was ideal. The Hotel was sooo friendly, staff and holiday makers included. There was a mixture of young groups, couples and families and the Hotel catered for all. The food was typical 3 star buffet really the same you get in most half board 3star hotels, yummy, hot, nothing extravagent and lots of it! The second week of our holiday brought lots of people to the hotel more young ones but it was never rowdy or really noisy round by the pool. The bar staff were lovely they would do anything to help you, bring your food to wherever you are round the pool have laugh with you and make sure your fully catered for....5star service! I would definitely recommend going to the Abrat if you are young and want all the delights of San Anotonio but want a chilled out friendly atmosphere during the day. I must add that the Hotel is also one of Escapades hotels which is a young and lively tour company so if you go in peak season there will obviously be more young people as we found on the second week, but like i said b4 it was never a problem. Escapades were really good actually nothing like 18-30s they just wanted everyone to have gr8 time. San Anotonio Brill. Hotel Abrat Brill I 100% recommend both!!!!

The service in the Abrat Hotel was very good, the staff were always very helpful. There was always a variety of different foods for breakfast and dinner so its good value for money. The place is good mainly for couples and families. Saying that though, the hotel is situated right on the coast so its next to sunset strip and near to the big clubs and the harbour (approx 15 min walk to harbour) so it could be ideal for groups of people out there for the ibiza nightlife. But music from the clubs cant be heard from the hotel so its an ideal location for everyone. The rooms are basic but comfortable with a tv, nice bathroom and balcony. They are cleaned very regularly. One problem: they havent got air conditioning though so be prepared to roast!
