Great Hotel Hotel is an excellent location and hotel is clean and friendly. What more could you want??

+ All the staff were pleasant, helpful, and smiling. - Rooms were a little hot and humid.

+ Ease of access into city centre - handy to walk to most of attractions. rooms clean, fairly well facilitated with few frills! - Slightly noisy location - on main road which was busy. ok with windows closed but it was warm & no air conditioning!

+ Great location, friendly staff. - Breakfast is very expensive. no coffee/tea making facilities in the hotel nor a mini bar/fridge. all the rooms are different shapes and configuration. images shown on this website are the deluxe rooms, not the standard room - a little misleading. the room i stayed in had no shower curtain which was a little odd. booked two same rooms, but 1 room had a luggage rack, coffee table and chairs of which the other room did not have. also this room's bathroom was more of a wet room but no indication was given or choice when given our room.

+ Excellent location - Room was small and in the basement, very poorly ventilated and had a very unpleasant smoking odour

- The hotel is situated on a very busy strreett at night and there is not enough inssullation too prevent the noise until early hours, also when we arrived the 1st floor hallway had a very bad soure smell that got stronger each day, " makeing us all feel quight sick"

+ I really liked this hotel. my favourite in amsterdam so far. the location was perfect (it looked a lot more complicated in their directions). the hotel was very clean and the delux room was reasonable priced. didn't see the standard rooms. it was a good budget hotel in amsterdam which was exactly what we were looking for this time. - The street outside was very noisey. we had to keep the windows closed. i had asked for a smoking room but didn't get one. the double bed that i asked for was two single beds pushed together. the receptionist when we arrived could have been a bit friendlier but the the other staff were very nice.

More than adequate Breakfast in one of the cafes on the flower market is reasonable & a great place to sit and watch the world go by.

Albus Grand Review July 08 For some fun you can visit the rembrant plein bar area, but avoid the gauchos as the service is poor. The main park nearby is a fantastic way to unwind and it has a really nice little cafe to grab lunch.

+ The location is probably the only great feature this hotel boasts. its located between dam square and leidseplein. very easy to get to from central station. not much need to catch trams as you can walk everywhere very easily, main shopping street nearby and right next to the flower market. would think about staying there again because of this. - Where do i start?. firstly, i would not call this a 3 star hotel, i have had better service in a travelodge in england. the room felt dirty and cheap. reception staff look like they don't want to be there, and seemed unwilling to help let alone get a 'hello' in the morning. the walls were paper thin and you can hear pretty much everything the people in the next room are doing, including on the loo. it felt like a step up from a cheap hostel really. was very hot in the rooms even on the top floors, and we had 2 doors which opened instead of windows which meant we didn't feel comfortable leaving them open at night. also the shower in the room felt unclean, the shower curtain was yellow stained and filthy. all in all, way over priced for what you get. i have been to amsterdam many many times and i am still yet to find a nice place on this kind of budget. probably won't stay there again, unless the prices come down. will keep searching for something better for sure. also, breakfast way overpriced, they are having a laugh if they think anyone would be willing to pay €16 for breakfast when there are plenty of cafe's, restaraunts, off licences and bakeries nearby.

When we arrived and checked in we were upgraded to a superior double - I thought that's what I'd booked anyway(?) Room needs air conditioning or a room fan during the summer months.

+ Clean, tidy. quiet room lovely size quad room - - problems at check in with credit card machine - not being able to pay when booking. poubd went weak against euro and we ended up paying more for our trip - tea and coffee were not replenished in room. asked at reception and told we were not entitled as we had got a free upgrade (that we were not told about and did not ask for)

+ Room was clean - Dont get the basment room it gets too hot...they will offer you a non-smoking room take it you can still smoke

Great location but rooms were so so We took the Connexxion Schiphol Hotel Shuttle from the airport to the hotel and paid a return fair. This worked a lot less than catching a taxi (21 euros return).

+ Polite, friendly staff. - Staff had accidently cancelled my booking (to mates amusement) but no issue as rooms available

+ The location was excellent. - I found the hotel room overheated, but if i opened the window it was too noisy, nlisy with window closed as well

+ The hotel is greatly situated. we were a group of 10 persons who shared 2xtriple and 1 room for four persons. the rooms are spacious and we were very comfortable despite the number of persons sharing rooms.

+ We stayed in a triple room it was big the room was well furnished the beds were like new

Value for money, close to central. It is a nice hotel for weekends leisure trips with friends. Neat and clean, and close to city centre. Restaurants and trams are within few minutes of walking.

Great Location Within 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel is the museums, the beautiful canals are all around you and the best shopping street is right next to you.

Have just returned from a very enjoyable stay at the Albus Grand Hotel. The hotel staff are friendly and the reception staff were very helpful. The breakfast is of good quality and plenty of variety, from yoghurts to crispy bacon! The location of the hotel is good. You can walk to the City centre in 10 minutes. The only negative comments we have are the lift was broken for most of our stay and we were on the 8th floor which meant we had 16 flights of stairs to climb! Not great when you have been walking around Amsterdam all day! We also asked for a non smoking room our room was clearly a smoking room as there was a strong smell of stale smoke and had burn holes on the carpets and chairs! All in all a good hotel that we would recommend. Book early as it's cheaper!

Great location Try the 'Sushi' restaurant - off the main street connecting to shopping street - excellent Japanese food (Sushi is the name of the establishment not the total menu). Around the corner from the Hotel try the Thai restuarant - also lovely food. Also Greek - Zorba's try the mezes. mmmmmm

Very nice hotel with spacious rooms and great beds. The staff at the reception was very helpful - especially Patricia :-) Breakfast was full and excellent, but beware - you are kindly told at 10 sharp (10.30 on weekends) to finish your breakfast and leave the breakfast room. Very interesting to notice people's reactions - those who showed up at 9.55! The location is fine - close to "lively" areas, close to the Opera and close to shopping areas. The hotel is facing a rather busy street, so remember ear-plugs if you are "allergic" to traffic noise.

Nice and cosy, in a very central position. Clean and spacious standard rooms, fair quietness, even in rooms on second floor. One problem: there is only one elevator and, while checking out..it was out of order! Luckily I was on second floor!

I had an OK experience with the Albus Grand. The hotel lobby is very fancy and clean, however the moment you get off the elevator to your floor it's like it's a different hotel. There was an extremely annoying noise in the walls the whole entire night.
