No shuttle on Sundays! No restaurant on Sundays! No bar. Pictures are way too flattering!

The Hotel is very basic for American tastes, but it was clean and quiet. It cost us 20 euro via taxi, though you can call and they will send a shuttle. They told us the first trip to and from the airport was complimentary but the additional trips would be 10 Euro. The Hotel is in / near Waldorf in kind of an industrial area and is not scenic, but the drive to the hotel is nice. The local Temps were in the high 70'sF (mid 20's C) and an air conditioner was not available so it was a little uncomfortable. Leave the TV off at night, especially if you plan to bring children, since the programming can contain inappropriate viewing. The staff was helpful, but not overly friendly (I think this is fairly typical so don't take it personal). The high speed Internet downstairs was working well and they had 2 computers available. The best part of the stay was the **wonderful dinners** served at the restaurant! I had dinner the first night there with friends and we all enjoyed our meals so much we came back the next night as well. The gourmet deserts were nice as well. Great service and German beer. I would go back there just for the good food!

A basic businessman's hotel. We just needed a place near the airport for one night, and it was fine for that. We got there a bit early and asked the desk clerk if there was anything to do nearby. He directed us to a Holocaust Memorial a short walking distance away. A very moving experience--a memorial to 1700 Hungarina Jewish women who were brought to a labor camp on the edge of Walldorf to work on airport runways towards the end of WW II. It's a memorial trail through a nice wooded area. Also had a pleasant Italian meal nearby on Aschaffenburgerstrasse at Ristorante Ciao.

I took my mother and her friends stay at this hotel on 29 Oct 2007 around 11pm. The staffs at the front desk are extremely rude and lie to us. They gave us a room has been used and told us there is no other room available. We either stay in this dirty room or leave without the money back. After I decided to pay for the oversea phone call to Expedia where we make our booking, they gave us a clean room. Why they have to lie to us at the beginning? Also they said there is no free bus to go to airport next morning but they can call a taxi for us for 25 Euro. The taxi didn’t show up either because they didn’t make a reservation for us. What a horrible service. I have never met any hotel staff like this. I would NEVER.... NEVER go back again.

As we get older, we just can't handle those 12-hour layovers waiting for our connection from the Frankfurt airport to Kazan, Russia. So this year, we booked a hotel through Expedia. It was the best value for our limited budget and it worked out great. I read some of the reviews and though some were quite negative, we proceeded. Our shuttle was quick arriving after a 15-minute wait and our driver very nice. The area, industrial, was light industrial with apartments and homes quite near by. I imagined smoke belching from smokestacks when I read other reviews. The lobby was pleasant and we had a good, brief exchange with the receptionist and the manager. We got to our 2nd floor room quickly and since we arrived just at noon, our room was just being finished with cleaning. The day was coolish but we still wanted a fan to move the air around. The small noisy one in the room was replaced once we communicated with a cleaner/supervisor who was on the floor at the time. There wasn't any air conditioning which could have been bad on a warmer day. We found out that the restaurant downstairs started serving dinner at 6 p.m. and decided to try it. The food was delicious and the setting marvelous. For such a small place, there was a lovely outdoor dining area. We were surrounded with color and greenery. The day was perfect - mid 60's F and very low humidity. It was a gift from God after the long flight from Austin, TX. We had pork medallion with pasta and lemon sauce and a mixed green salad. A terrific meal and I wouldn't hesitate to eat there again. About 20 euros per person w/o wine. The waitress and her sister, Mena, were so helpful and kind. Mena even suggested where we could go for a stroll after dinner and it worked out perfectly. We walked through the woods towards the town and even found a modern little shopping area that we'll remember for next time. It contained other shops, places to eat and a grocery store. I don't understand how we had such a pleasant stay while others had so many disappointments. The room was simple and clean, the bathroom clean and absolutely adequate, the bedding was excellent, so soft, even the lift was the quietest I've ever seen. There was a free internet cafe, shuttle bus and good breakfast. The management was very kind and helpful to us, allowing a much later check out time for an extra 15 euros. Also found out that they have day rooms which we might want to take advantage of in the future. I wouldn't have changed anything. Thanks to all the staff who were very professional and cheerful. KR

Stayed at the Albatros both coming into and flying out of Frankfurt . Nothing fancy, but a good value for a basic hotel. Located about 20 mins by car south of the airport, on a quiet side street in a mixed residential/business area. Free street parking and airport shuttle available. Grocery and a few shops/restaurants (mostly turkish) within walking distance. Safe to walk, but not a highly populated area. Rooms are small and functional. TV volume never worked - had to read lips and the promised maintenance man never arrived. Beware of summer - there's no AC (as with much of Europe) and we happened to arrive during record breaking heat. A portable fan and open window in each room helped, but not enough. Free internet terminals in the lobby and average continental breakfast at no extra cost. Temporary glitches had their lift and computer out of commission - was fixed by the second stay. Staff speaks english; some more helpful than others. Bedding not the most comfortable but in keeping with what you pay for. Decent value if you're just looking for a no-frills place to sleep close to the airport.

This hotel is NOT 6km from the airport. The shortest route will take you 30 km and 20 minutes. A taxi ride costs almost 40€! Yes, there is a shuttle but after waiting almost 2 hours at the airport for it to arrive, we finally gave up and shared a taxi with another poor soul unlucky enough to have booked a room at this hotel (he had been waiting even longer). The receptionist who answered the phone kept saying that the shuttle was on its way but was stuck in traffic. Odd, because there was no traffic visible the entire way there. After arriving, we were assigned a room with two single beds despite having booked (and paid for) a queen-sized bed. The receptionist was very rude when we asked for the room we had booked and refused to give us the room we paid for or discount the room we were forced to stay in. We will never stay at Albatros again. They are deceptive, rude and inconvenient.

date 31/05/07 Stay away as much as you can! The worst service in the whole world! I stayed at the airport waiting for the shuttle for one hour and a half. I call them 3 times asking for the service and they didn't send the shuttle. I call saing that I was not going anymore. And they charge my credicard without my permition the full price, about 2 weeks later. I tried to negociate but they turn the fone off while is was talking...

This was one of the worst places I've stayed in 30 years. The hotel Albatros in Frankfurt is dreary and unwelcoming and 4 of the 5 staff I interacted with were extremely rude. The interior hall lighting was set on timers that would not consistently turn on with motion; the one next to the door in my room did not work at all and in the evening I couldn't see to open my door. As a single woman travelling alone the lack of lighting and security were completely inappropriate. The manual key system to the door was difficult to use as it actually locked twice in two different positions before it unlocked. The shower diverter did not work at all (and at 6am with limited time before my flight I would not have asked to be moved to another room to have the ability to take a shower); because of the location of the faucet in the tub it was nearly impossible to bathe or wash my hair. The room and interior walls were dirty and the place looked generally unkept. The shuttle van used for airport transportation was falling apart, no functional passenger seatbelts, no interior door handle to get out and many areas of the van interior held together with duct tape. It is also at least a 20 minute ride from the airport and don't understand how this can be classified as an airport hotel. Two computers that offered internet service in a side lobby had bad keyboards where the keys didn't correspond to the symbols on them which made them nearly impossible to use for any length of time. I would not return to or ever recommend this hotel to others. I travel very frequently, both in the USA and overseas and this was one of the worst I've been in.

This is a nice hotel with a good breakfast included, but for one of the "Frankfurt Airport Hotels" it is kind of far away. It was $99 (paid in advance on Travelocity) for our room, which was spacious and quiet. The bed was a bit on the hard side but the bedding was comfortable and clean. There is a free airport shuttle but it would be difficult to get it to come pick you up at the airport (you need to call for it, and there are many possible places you could be waiting at the Frankfurt Airport). You could take a bus or train to Waldorf but if so, do it by daylight so you can find it. We arrived after dark and wound up taking a 20 minute taxi ride from Frankfurt Airport to find this hotel. We did take the shuttle back to the airport in the morning, however.

I stayed in the Fra airport area for one night to catch a flight the next day. This Hotel had the best price. I called the reception desk from the baggage claim area and they send a free shuttle to pick me up (Hotel is a few miles away from the Terminals in an Industrial area). Check-In was quick and Hotel basic. TV did not work. Breakfast was ok with the usual German choice of sausage, cheese, jam, breadrolls. The transfer back to the airport was on time. Would stay again for a rate under 50Euro/nts but only for a max of 1 night as this is not a holiday hotel.

Room booked was not avaialable although held through corporate booking, receptionist was rude and unhelpful, my advice is to avoid Frankfurt as a travel hub.

On arrival, the receptionist was unable to find our reservation even though they had confirmed it by email in advance and was rude as well. The rooms were clean but very basic and boring - certainly not a place you would stay longer than necessary. The breakfast was a disaster. Half the products in the buffet were not there and those available were of poor quality and the person servicing the buffet ignored the guests completely. A very poor experience, not worth the price. I wonder how they got the three star rating? PH, Warsaw

My itinerary covered return flight to Frankfurt and 3 nights at the Albatros Airport Hotel from 9-12 April. This hotel is unsuitable. It is owned and managed by amateur Turkish management. The hotel mistakenly checked me out after 1 night and removed my personal belongings from my room without my consent. These were however recovered except for a book that I had purchased at City airport. The hotel were unable to reimburse me in cash for this despite repeated requests. No apologies were offered in line with customary German and Turkish rudeness. There is also ambient traffic noise during the night from a truck depot opposite. Steer well clear.

In July I had a flight from frankfurt but my train was really early in the morning so I decided to stay a few hours in this hotel. For the price I paid (I think it was about 55,-€) it was a really nice room and even the shuttleservice was great on my arrival at the hotel. Only the way back to the airport I had to take a cap because the shuttle was not running at 4 o'clock in the morning. so perfect hotel for one or two nights.

Stayed in July, and the weather was hot, and the room was terribly hot with no air conditioning. I was finally able to get a fan from the front desk. The room was very small, the bed no more than a small wood frame and the bathroom fixtures were in need of repair. Also, what initially sold me on this hotel was the free shuttle from the airport. This was anything but "free". The "free shuttle" was very hard to request, since it is not listed in the area where other hotel shuttles are listed. Also, I had an early flight the next day, and it did not run before 7AM. The person at the front desk informed me that I had to take a taxi, which would cost me 15 Euros (approximately $20). This did not thrill me, since I expected the transportation to be free. Furthermore, I had the hotel make the taxi reservation for the next morning. The taxi driver picked me up on schedule, but when we reached the airport told me the fare was 29 euros ($40)!! Since I could not really do much about this because I had to catch my flight (and the driver pretended not to know English), I paid the money (which was almost as much as the stay at the hotel). It seems that that the hotel not only did not provide the free transporation, but also engaged in a taxi service which took advantage of the situation and charged at least 2X's the normal rate. I would NEVER, under any circumstances, use this hotel again.

I stayed at the Albatros when I was in TRANSIT to the middle east for 9hours. I took a tour around Frankfurt, and then went to the hotel to rest (took a day room for about 39 euros. The ROOM was GREAT. The bed was confortable, and the bathroom was NEW and clean. It was well worth the $$.

The room was OK, though not airconditioned. Staff was helpful and spoke English for the most part. But, the restaurant in the building had a party that went pretty much all night and the bass boomed throughout the building. The police were called twice, but no results. Apparently, this problem is a recurring one and the hotel doesn't follow through with the police to end the practice. By the way, ear plugs don't work when the bass vibrates your body.

We found this hotel on a website related to the airport and booked a room for a day stay. Getting to the hotel was a nightmare as the hotel does not participate in the hotel phone bank at the airport. After we finally got a hold of them, they did send somebody to pick us up in an unmarked van! That sure made us feel safe and like we had the correct place. Once we got to the hotel, it seemed that checking us in was a bother to the person on duty at the desk. The room itself was clean, but had no heat! We stayed two hours in our down jackets, before deciding to give up and forgo sleep for the day. The hotel response was that the rooms were normal temperature. If 15 degrees Celsius (60 F) is normal, then I suppose it was normal. We had to wait thirty minutes for a ride back to the airport even though we had been told service was on an as needed basis. Never, never, again!!
