I traveled with my wife and two daughters to Paris and looking to stay in one roomed I booked an "apartment" room at the Acacias de Ville. Carpet was not only dirty and wet but the room had no windows!! You had to sit in the tub to take a shower, the ceiling in the bathroom was 5 feet high!!. Even though pictures in their web site showed a decent and affordable room, reality is very different. We stayed there one night and had to move to another hotel the following day. I made a mistake you can avoid.

Excellent hotel - the main feature was the wonderful staff, all of them! Very helpful, exceedingly nice and everyon made me feel welcome and valued. Nice room, plenty of space for a low cost hotel, comfortable. Very close to everything. I had problems trying to find the best metro station - now I know. Go to the Hotel de Ville metro station, and the hotel is 5 mins away. I will stay there again

This hotel is in a great location but it is very basic. My husband and I don't spend very much time in hotels when we go on vacation. We prefer to be out and exploring so this hotel met our needs. A roof over our heads, a clean room with a private bath, good location, a decent breakfast for a great price and that's excatly what we got. If you don't need or don't want spend the money on a 5 star hotel with all of the bells and whistles this is a perfect choice.

Have stayed in le Marais before but this was the first time at this hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room rate included delightful continental breakfast. The room was quite small but very clean and adequate. Included hair dryer, phone and television. The location could not have been better for Pompidou Centre, Notre Dame, Le Marais, and Les Halles. Very close to BHV for shopping. Would definitely stay here again for the price and location.

I stayed here for 3 days at the beginning of June - Paris was warm, though not hot. This is basic 2 star, but perfectly adequate for the price, clean, my towels were fine. Breakfast was normal French breakfast, quite adequate. Staff were helpful and friendly. Location is great - to stroll to the Seine and Notre Dame was a real thrill. I would stay here again.

It was 84 degrees, unusual for Paris. The Acacias Hotel had no air condition, no elevator, worn towels, really old furniture and very low celings (and I am 5'1"). Even in the winter I would not stay there. The hotel did not look clean. The surrounding area was okay but not all that attractive. Yes, it is a good location as long as yu ignore the street you are on. They charge 8 euros extra for breakfast and it looked awful. Definitely a two star rating. We checked out after one night and moved to a fabulous, clean and bright hotel with a delightful staff just five blocks away that was steps away from the Louvre. The change of hotels was heavenly. This is my third time in Paris and I was curious about a hotel that carried my name. OOPS!

All in all, it's not a bad option. But it's certainly not a 3-star place.

Having been to Paris many times for various reasons and at various times, this hotel could not be in a better location. When travelling alone and not requiring hotel services, it is the hotel location which is important to me, and this hotel could not be better. It is old; stairs, no lift, small shower, but VERY close to rue Rivoli and the Metro at Hotel de Ville (Line 1). I would not recommend this for family stay or an extended visit, but for 3 days it is very reasonably priced and one can endure not having a marble bath!

I stayed in this hotel for a few days. This hotel is very small, but has everything you need: bathroom, TV, the basics. If you are not planning on spending all day in the hotel, then this is a very good one. The hotel stuff was very nice and helpful. The location is excellent. It is also a quiet street. I would stay there again.

This is a 2-star hotel, and this is what you get. Our room was clean and spacious, but the furniture was old. The location is excellent, being within walking distance from major tourist attractions. The biggest problem I noticed was that there was no elevator, so I had to carry our luggage through a maze of stairs and corridors all the way to the 2nd floor. I think this hotel has 3 floors, so good luck if they give you a room on the top floor!

After a month in France I feel infomred enough o evaluate this hotel and compare it to others. $100 doesn't buy much in Paris. In this case it buys a 2-star (slighly funky) hotel in a great location. The locations is incredibly convenient -- just a couple blocks from Notre Dame, a block from Center Pompediu, and on the edge of the fantastic Marais district. The wife loved the shopping. I loved being able to walk almost everywhere. Our family of 4 stayed in a triple. There was pretty good space in the room. The beds were okay (though I'm not a fan of single beds). The bathroom was a bit tight, and we missed a tub. Our room was in front, and somewhat loud -- but you should expect this staying so close in. The desk staff was great (especially the evening guy). Breakfast was better then the usual continental stuff. Having a car proved to tbe the hardest part of staying here -- there wasn't even a spot to stop and unoad the luggage. But there was planty of parking at the Center Pompediu just a couple of blocks away. Overall, I've found 1-stars are really for backpackers who don't mind need a bath in their room. 2-stars give you a bath and a bit of funk -- Super 8 style in North America. 3-star hotels are very nice -- about Marriot and Sheraton standard in North American. 4 stars, which I didn't experience, must be amazing. All in all, if you're not willing to shell out for a 3-star hotel, this is a good 2 star option.

5 of us stayed (in a double and a triple). It was an hotel, but great for the price. It is very affordable and in an excellent location. Given that it is a minute walk from the Hotel de Ville and right in the middle of the Marais, I can do with the slightly worn hotel. If you are traveling on a budget, or are young and wanting to be in a great area, this is it. Nothing else in the area is 80 euros a night like this is.

The Acacias was listed on its website as a 3-star hotel but on the door it was a 2-star hotel The hotel is basic, very basic. It is a bit worn. The staff members speak English and are pleasant, but the rooms are not clean enough for me. My room would be more to the liking of a 10-year old boy --- dark stained plain oak furniture; a shower too small for a grown man. The room itself was large enough; the bed, comfortable. Double doors opened to rue de Temple. No lift. Most of the other guests were toting pack-packs rather than suit-cases.
