I just came from 12 days in Paris with my wife and another couple. We have spent the whole period at the Acacias Etoile Hotel situated on Rue des Acacias, 11. The hotel is situated near the Arc Triumph, very close to two metro stations (Argentine and Charles Gaulle). We stayed in a small room but with everything we needed for 160 /night. A typical french bistro is just across the street, and lots of good restaurants nearby (my favorites where Larc, The galvacher and a good wine place L'ecluse). We usually had breakfast at an excellent patisserie on the corner with Rue Carnot. The reception at the Hotel was fantastic, helping us with reservations , directions and many other. We particularly like to thank Pricilia for being so kind and always ready to help us!! For runners, the hotel is 12 min away(running) from the Bois Bologne an excellent place to exercise.
This hotel was great. We went to Paris for 3 days/2 nights during our 2 week stay in England. After searching Tripadvisor, we decided on this hotel. The reviews are pretty accurate. We have no complaints. Only good things to say. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was very nice and the shower was great. Just like in the US. No worries about water pressure. The room was small, but that's not a complaint, just an observation. We were only in the room to sleep. We didn't spend much time there. There is only 1 outlet in the room under the desk, but we made it work. The elevator was small, so we each went up separately with a bag. The people at the reception desk were great and very helpful. We didn't hear any outside noise unless we opened the window. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel. It was expensive for what was offered. We opted to walk down the street to the boulangerie/pattiserie and just have coffee/tea/bread, etc. Paris had the best bread and croissants I've ever tasted, why should I have expected anything less. Paris is an extremely expensive city - which we expected. After spending almost 4 euros on a small bottle of water, we found this little shop down the street from the hotel. 1 euro for a large bottle of Evian was a great price. This hotel is in a great location. There is a metro stop about 1 block up from the hotel. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
We stayed here for four nights during a two week trip to Europe, and selected this hotel based upon location and Trip Advisor reviews. Of the five similarly-priced hotels that we stayed at in London, Paris, Geneva, Zermatt and Zurich, this one was the worst. As many other reviewers have noted, the rooms are small. I would go a bit further and state that the rooms are cramped and spartan. The decor and furniture was very basic, the bed wasn't the most comfortable, and simple amenities like shampoo and tissues were missing. One plus is that the hotel did offer free wired internet, but they had run out of cables by the time we checked in late. This problem was remedied by the manager the next morning. Most staff were very polite and helpful, except for the overnight guy. I question some of their restaurant recommendations, however. Specifically, we were underwhelmed by the French bistro across the street, even though it seems to have gotten some good press. I plan to book another hotel on my next trip to Paris, even if it costs a little more.
We spent 3 nights at this hotel during a recent trip to Paris & enjoyed our stay. It is perfectly located - 5 minutes walk to Arc De Triomphe & 2 metro stations nearby. The rooms are clean & functional, albeit a bit small. We loved the hotel staff - very friendly, fluent in English and they readily helped us with reservations/inquiries etc. Would be happy to go back in a heartbeat!
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in March and found the locstion to be excellent, and the staff to be super helpful! They were full of good info. We didn't get breakfast at the hotel but ate every morning at the boulangerie/pattiserie at the corner about 100meters from hotel entrance(coffee + coissant+juice+half bagette = €7.50 not bad at paris prices!!). The room was very shockingly small at first, until we realised that we were to spend very little time there at all! It was very comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. We'll be back!!
The location of the hotel is excellent, very close to champs-elysees and the arc de triomphe and two blocks from Argentine Station metro. Te price is very convenient altough Paris is very expensive. Despite the rooms are very small, is surprisely clean and have excellent bathdrooms. Very comfortable.
Overall, hotel was lovely. Location is superb, 5 minutes from les Champs, and beside Arc de Triomphe. the air france bus drops you about five minutes from the hotel, and there is a metro station very close-by also. Rooms are small, as expected in central Paris, but very clean and pleasant. We stayed at the back of the hotel so it was not noisy whatsoever. Breakfast is not included and is rather extortionately priced - but there are many cafes and boulangeries nearby... In general, staff were pleasant, except for one man who yelled at us one night as we had not handed in our keys that morning - oops! In many cities this hotel would not be awarded three stars, but it is clean and centrally located. Avoid if you plan to spend alot of time in the hotel - but hey, in Paris, who does?
After doing much intense searching to try and find a decent hotel in Paris but not one that would break the bank, I came across the Acacias Etoile Hotel. It had good reviews (26th out of over 1500 in Paris at the time) and we were not disappointed. The hotel were doing a discount on their rooms, which meant we got a €160 for only €115 (about £85). I didn't think the rooms were that small, I was expecting a lot worse! We had a room with a bath as opposed to a shower, the bathroom was immaculate, nice plasma TV and a good comfy bed. We didn't opt for breakfast as I thought it was quite expensive - especially when you can get a baguette and a coffee for €5 at one of the cafes up the road. The hotel is in a great location, down a little residential street about 5mins walk from the Arc De Triomphe. If you come out of the hotel and turn left and walk up the road, you will walk past lots of great little cafes where we had breakfast every morning. The guy on reception was very friendly and spoke good English. I'd definately recommend staying here.
A nice little hotel with plenty of pleasant surprises! At first glance the hotel from the outside looked rather dodgarama but going inside it was very modern and very classy and the receptionist was very very nice (but not the night manager). Service is basic (which is to be expected) but very polite, courteous and all spoke English (they responded in english when I tried communicating in my very limited french). Was a little shocked with how small the elevator was. It was the size of a coffin! Groups be warned, with all your luggage, you will need multiple trips up and down the elevator as you can only fit one person in the lift with your bags. I ended up walking up and down to the top level (which isnt so bad as it prepared me for the walking I would do all over Paris!) The rooms are surprisingly modern and clean. I suppose because I was expecting the worse I got a pleasant surprise with the size. Yes, it's small but not bad. We stayed in a room with a bathtub (for the little bit extra it's worth it). Location was exceptional, there are two great convenience shops with very friendly staff next door on either side and the Arc de Triomphe is about 3 minutes walk just around the corner. Lovely little pattiserie just around the corner as well and easy access to bistros and restaurants. Only downside was the night manager who was rather stand-offish and rude, but oh well. Ces la vie!
We have spent 3 days in Acacias hotel. Staff is very very friendly, room is very very clean, location is incredible, near the Arc de triumph and the champs Elyses. A very very good find. Thanks
After reading reviews about the small rooms, my partner and I opted for a Club room, and it was STILL quite small; however, it was extremely clean and the furnishings were modern and attractive. While the hotel lacks the vibrant neighbourhood of the 5e arrondissment (where we later stayed) the hotel was of a much higher standard for the price, and it's located in a great residential neighbourhood about 5 minutes walking from the Arc de Triomphe. The staff was very friendly - they allowed us to check in early, and even ordered us a pizza on an evening that we were too exhausted to head out for a real dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay at the Acacias again. If you go be sure to check out the bakery at the corner of acacias and rue de la grande armée!!

This hotel was excellent. Very clean and comfortable. The staff was very very kind and everybody speak english. They help us a lot to get diections for every place. Is very close of the Arc de Triumph and Champs Elysees. I really really like it!!! It also have a few metro stops very near. Which is very convinient in Paris!
I read the reviews on this site before I booked this hotel and I have to say they were spot on. The location of the hotel is excellent, under 10 minute walk to champs-elysees and the arc de triomphe and a metro link and plenty of shops and a super market nearby. The rooms were very small but very clean and the shower was excellent. I would definitely recommend a stay here. Please read my reviews of Paris Vision tour excursions if you are thinking of using them. DON'T BOOK A TOUR WITH PARIS VISION! They are a RIP OFF and RUBBISH!!!
Convenient location, 5 minutes walk from metro on rail line convenient to many major atttractions without transfer, close to several reasonably priced restaurants, and top-notch assistance provided by Quentin. He spent several minutes speaking with our transportation provider to the airport. If it hadn't have been for Quentin we would have missed our plane. Try L'Ecluse restaurant nearby and don't miss the patisseries! I second all the positive comments posted earlier. Small hotel with friendly staff, walking distance to Champs Elysees, L'Arc de Triomphe, Louvre. We'll return on our next visit to Paris.
We stayed here for one night on 28 September. Although check in time was in the afternoon and we arrived early in the morning the staff were very friendly and gave us a room almost immediatelly without having to wait for long. The hotel has free internet access in the lobby and also in the rooms (the rooms dont have WiFi but you can connect via LAN cable). Rooms are somewhat small but they are very clean and comfortable. The truth is that room size is not really an issue unless you plan to stay most of the time in your room. Location is great, only a short walk from the Line 1 Metro. Overall, our experience was very pleasant and we would definitely return.
We have just return from our trip to Paris, London and Switzerland. We stayed for two nights in paris. Hotel location is excellent ,near the subway and in safe area . Room was although small but clean and comfortabe. Staff at the front desk was exremely helpful and courteous they went out of there way to help us as it was our first visit to Paris. I will recommend it to any body visiting Paris to stay at this hotel.
This is a truely excellent hotel. Everything you could want for a stress free and relaxing trip. The rooms themselves are compact but there is still enough room to move! Showers are fantastic, beds very comfy and the whole place is spotless all the time. Staff are very helpful and polite, we had noisy neighbours the first night and he moved us without hesitation. Will always stay here when we come to Paris.
Good location (close to metro), clean and staff are quite helpful. Definitely good standard for the price your pay in Paris!! I would definitely recommend to friends if they are looking for this price range.
We just returned from this great hotel that we booked after the reviews from TA. The hotel location is superior, near a metro station (Argentine), safe calm neighbourhood, walking distance to the Arc de Triumphe. Nearby you can find a grocery shop & a nice bakery. The hotel rooms is clean, more than enough space, the bathroom clean with everything available. The rooms are airconditioned, with comfortable beds & a flat screen TV with two english channels. The staff are terrific, very very helpful & speak good English, with 24 hour service. We paid 120 euros a night for a double bedroom, the safe deposit was handy & the fridge was nice. They offered us an extra bed free of charge. It deserves what we paid for. I would totally come back to this hotel. Note: The reception lady informed us that the parking during the month of August in some streets was free of charge & that saved us around 20 euros daily.
Fantastic little hotel in a quiet & convenient location ( walking distance to the arc de Triomphe , Metro station, cafes / restaurants and a lovely bakery full of delicious cakes). Our rooms were small, but very modern ( with airconditioning , flat screen TV , mini bar / fridge and beautiful bathrooms). We were well looked after by the friendly reception staffs ( they all speak English and are very professional). We highly recommend!!
After reading many reviews about the hotel, we decided to stay here the first 3 days of our honeymoon. The check in process was easy. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and immediately welcomed us with a cup of coffee in their small lounge. Our room overlooked the street and it was great to open the window and have Paris come in! The room was small yet extremely quaint. There was plenty of room to move around even with our 2 large duffle type suitcases. The bed was comfortable and extremely firm. Just the way i like it. Linens were clean. The TV and AC worked perfectly. The bathrooms were clean and finished with beautiful marble or maybe travertine tiles...not sure which one. The shower had great water pressure and the toilet was neat and clean. The hotel is situated 5 mins from the Champs D'elysee...did i spell that right? The restaurant across the street was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly. Gave us a guide on Paris to use if we promised to bring it back the next day. We even got to meet the chef. We liked the hotel and area so much that we came back to Paris after touring Europe and stayed at the hotel for 2 more nights... Thanks for a great little hotel and a friendly and helpful staff. Merci!
The other reviews should be a little more discriminating. This hotel is certainly not bad (clean and close to Arc de Triomphe) but is hardly a place to rave about. The price is low by Paris standards but the rooms are even smaller and certainly not a memorable experience by any means. Just a functional hotel. As I said it's close to Arc de Triomphe but the immediate area around the hotel (i.e. the street) is pretty unremarkable. Actually, for tourists, Arc de Triomphe area is perhaps not such a great place to be located. BTW Champs Elysees is a letdown.
We were a little worried by the lack of security (we didn’t have to show them our passports!) However the staff were wonderful and I am sure that they would have spotted any problems. The location was super: we were able to walk to the main attractions, which was great, because we were only staying one night. The room was extremely clean and quite a bit better than we expected. Our only complaint was that our room was a little smaller than we expected. The breakfast was lovely, although it wasn’t cheap.
Very easy to find. Friendly staff. We were a little surprised they didn't ask us for any ID or credit card on check in, they just gave us the key and welcomed us, we were like "oh ok, that's it?" :) no problem. The elevator was so very small my husband and I had to take 2 seperate trips up cuz it wouldn't fit both of us with hand luggage, we found it quite funny. and our room was exactly 1 step out of the elevator. In the morning we would hear footsteps running up and down i guess it was house keeping, a bit annoying. Everything in the room was perfect for the price, no complaints at all, it did the job perfectly. a comfy place for us to sleep and shower and keep our stuff. We didn't have breakfast at all durring our stay we would pick up something fresh from the bakery up the street. Excellent Value... Thanks Acacias Etoile!
Well located. Friendly English speaking young man at reception Rooms small but good Breakfast OK
Stayed at the Acacias Etoile for one week in mid June and were very impressed. Close to everything. A great walk to the Champs Elysee and Eiffel Tower. Brilliant service from welcoming, English-speaking staff. It was our honeymoon and the hotel made it one to remember. Note there's a great restaurant just down the road called Room Service with a fabulous contemporary menu and style and young English-speaking proprietor. Thoroughly recommended.
My lady and I stayed for a 'long weekend' (Friday to Sunday). The staff were courteous and very helpful, speaking English very well. That was useful as our French isn't so good. The room, whilst fairly small, was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. The continental, buffet style, breakfast was splendid, with a good choice of cold meats, cereal, fruit and yogurt. The coffee was very drinkable and not the strong, bitter stuff that I usually get served in Europe. The hotel is just a short walk from RER and Metro stations with a good selection of Cafés and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. I would definitely stay here again.
Great little hotel in a superb location near L'Arc de Triomphe. staff is great, efficient and friendly.
I just returned from staying at the Acacias Etoile Hotel in Paris. It was a wonderful hotel. It is small and quaint and in a wonderful area located near the arche de triumph. It is close to subway and bus lines. The staff spoke good english and were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay there and would definately stay there again. For those of you who have never been to Paris, try to avoid eating out at restaurants in the tourist areas- the food is very overpriced.
Nothing very fancy but still very impressed. Staff couldnt help enough, great location and very clean! perfect for a weekend away in Paris if not looking for anything very extrafagant! plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Stayed in a hotel is Paris March 2006, cost twice as much, room very similar and location wasnt half as good. This hotel gets a definate recommendation.
We stayed at the hotel for a weekend, and were very impressed with the decor and cleanliness. We did request Club rooms which are slightly more expensive; although they were still compact, but for Paris, one would expect this. There were a couple of very friendly bars on the doorstep, and the busy Champs Elysees is only a step away, but far more pricey. The red tour bus stops about a five minute walk away and was very good value for seeing the city. This hotel would be chosen and re-booked should I return to Paris.
Stayed at Hotel Acacias Etoile a few weeks ago during a business trip to Paris. Loved the location, in a more residential area of Paris compared to the normal tourist/shopping districts around the Opera. There were plenty of nice restaurants in the vicinity, walking distance to Palais de Congress and Arc de Triumph. Also several shops only a 5-minute walk away. Hotel in itself was well maintained, good standard and value for a 3 star hotel in Paris. Rooms on the smallish side, but you find that with most hotels in Paris. Staff very welcoming and friendly. I would stay there again when in Paris.
This was my first time in Paris since I was 11 years old. I was very happy to find a hotel that was in the middle of Paris and that was not so expensive. The localisation of Hotel Acacias Etoile is great, only 5 minutes walk to the Arc de Triumph and not to forget the staff which was very friendly and helpful. Some of you might say that this is the way it is supposed to be but let me tell you it does not always seem to be granted. I definately recommend Hotel Acaias Etoile and will definately be visiting it again.
Overall a fantastic value for money hotel with superb service. Excellent location near to metro and Arc de Triomphe but down a quiet side street so no noise in your room. Still there are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops within a 5 minute walk. Rooms are not large so recommend spending the extra and getting a club room but these are still excellent value for the location and quality.
The Acacias is a well run hotel. It has a modern minimalist style renovation inside of a typical Paris town house. The bathrooms are particularly well done. The staff are very helpful. The location is excellant , just 5 minutes from the Arc de Triomphe. I used to live in this area. ( the south 17th arrondissement) and I always really liked it. The area has a real parisian feel and relatively few tourists. Avenue des Ternes and the streets off it, have lots of real shops and restaurants used daily by the locals. There is also the famous street market at Rue Poncelet just off Place des Ternes. recommended Derek
I travel over 180 days per year on business staying in hotels all over the world. Rarely have I found a hotel in Paris that I liked. The Acacias Etoile was excellent. First of all, the staff were friendly and helpful. Secondly, the rooms were nice - plenty of space to work (for a Paris hotel), very clean, and spacious bathroom with shower. Thirdly, the location is great for business or pleasure. Parking is a little tough but the parking garage is not too far away and is a short walk. Lastly, the Acacias Etoile has free internet via cable in the rooms and has wireless on the ground level. By principal, I hate having to pay separately for internet. I was lucky to find this hotel with little notice. I recommend booking well in advance. For sure, I'll be staying here again.
I travel to Paris regularly for work, and this hotel is now my first choice of a place to stay in the city. It is very affordable, the staff is impeccably polite and helpful, the rooms are comfortable, and the location can't be beat!
This was our first time to Paris and it won't be the last! The hotel is located in a fabulous location, just moments away from the Arc de Triompe and Champs Elyseé. There is a SNCF and a RER train station just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel but we would recommend walking - you see so much more of this beautiful city. The hotel staff were faultless, polite and very helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy, the bathroom was spotless and smelt clean too. The shower was amazing, just what you needed to relax after a fun packed day of site-seeing! I admit the room is compact but it has everything you need, a comfy bed, tv and safety deposit box. This hotel is a fantastic base for your break away in this romantic city. We found some lovely restaurants just 10 minutes walk away from the hotel (turn left out of the hotel) out of the tourist lime light and where the locals eat, a definate must. If you are thinking of going to Paris consider this hotel, you won't be disappointed!
An excellent place to stay. Visiting Paris is such a romantic experience and a hotel like Acacias Etoile helps any couple to enjoy the best of the city. Very quiet, romantic and big (or small) enough to live for a week or two.
Close to Arc de Triomphe this is a very nice hotel quiet, clean and modern.
We arrived at our hotel late on a Monday evening, exhausted after a 5 hour flight delay and not speaking a great deal of french. The staff were immediately very helpful, showing us straight to our rooms, while giving us useful information about breakfast and the minibar. Both rooms were clean, tastefully decorated and well-equipped, although a little stuffy. However, when we asked at reception, they were again very helpful and showed us how to alter the heating and air-conditioning in the rooms. The next day, when we set out for a day's sightseeing, we were offered, but not forced, to have breakfast in the hotel (we declined, but it did look very nice). The hotel's location, right next to a metro station, and just down the road from the Arc de Triomphe, was great for getting around to the different sights, and there was a lot of choice in the local area for restaurants for an evening meal. There were also a number of small shops on the street, such as a bakery, a delicatessan and a greengrocers, which were really good for picnics (although maybe, in February, the weather wasn't ideal for that). Finally, on our last day, we asked if the staff would keep our bags in the hotel for us during the day, as we had an evening flight and didn't want to be carrying our luggage around all day. They were more than willing to oblige, which again reflected how kind they had been for our whole trip. And yet again, we asked if we could use their phone to contact the minibus transfer we had arranged, and they not only did this, but actually phoned the company themselves, and translated for us, which made the whole process much easier. Generally, a great hotel, with amazing staff, who made our whole trip a memorable and enjoyable experience.
stayed at this hotel for almost a week during the new years celebrations. I specifically wanted a hotel near the Arc du Triomphe so that we could walk back when the "party" was over. The hotel was very clean, and the staff was nice (keep in mind we're usually loners who dont request the services of the staff, concierge, or room service, so staff interaction was pretty basic: get key, return keys). The staff signed a card and left it on our room, along with a small box of chocolates to wish us a happy new year. It was very thoughtful. They did give us the wrong room, and asked us to move after about 20 mins after check in. The good thing is that the second room was bigger. But bigger doesnt mean "big", because even the bigger one was small. The elevator was TINY, and the walls were paper thin (could hear our next door neighbours every morning getting ready and closing closet doors). The last couple of mornings they had a construction going on on the top floor (1 above us), and the noise woke us up! So..+ good location, clean, elegant, friendly staff - paper thin walls, construction noise, room mix up.
I searched many hotels near the Arc, and with comments on tripadvisor, I have chosen to stay at this hotel for 4 nights. The conclusion is, I'm so glad I made this choice, and I'll definitely come back here again. I stayed in two types of room, a "Single" for 99Euro on weekend (or 119Euro on weekday), and "double" for 109Euro on weekday (many vacant room, thus cheaper midweek). I have travelled to many parts in North America, Australia, and Japan, but Europe was my second time, and first time in Paris. Best Distinguishing Feature Why I chose this hotel, in a nut-shell, is FREE INTERNET. Many other hotels will charge 20-30 Euros just for internet use. I came here for partly business part leisure, so internet connection was a must. I also wanted to stay near Arc de Thriomphe (refer 'location'), and this was the only hotel that offerred free internet with comfortable stay enviornment. If you don't care about internet, perhaps there are better hotels that you can search around, but this is the best place if you want internet. Location Being near the arc, there are 3 best points: - 4min walking from the drop off at Arc, where Air France direct bus from CDG Paris airport arrives. Bus is 13Euro one way, definitely better than taxi or PER+metro. - center of all metro station. Lines 1 will take you to Opera, Louvre, line 6 takes you to Effiefl tower, it's just in center of everything - glocery stores and many MANY places to eat nearby. You will never starve, and bottle of water is a quick walk away Hotel Amenity - The room is very small, if you need space, it's not a good idea. But I understand small size is standard in Paris, so if you are OK with small space, than it's ok. - room is VERY HYGINE, CLEAN, and MODERN. this is more important to me than the size - Showers have sufficient hot water. - It's very quite back-street, I never had trouble sleeping. - Telephone was free (at least locally) too - There is a mini-bar that you can store your item - If you really need that extra space, go for "double" room, where there are more spaces, and desk is large enough for work. "Single" room is really tiny, but bed for "single" room is enough for 2 people to sleep. (it's a semi-double size) Services - Receptions remembers me by my name, very generous - They are super friendly, and willing to help. - On a rainy day, I asked for umbrella, and they lent to me without questions - They speak good english, and willing to assist you when you need them - I arrived on Sunday at 7am, and room wasn't available. They allowed me to sit around in the lounge for 2.5h, doing my work, without being bothered. Value for Money - if you are internet user, definitely, don't look anywhere else - even if you aren't internet, 100Euro for room at this prime location, for quality of room, is a bargain. (but I have not stayed elsewhere, so perhaps you should compare) - Breakfast cost 12Euro which is bit rich, you get continental breakfast and american style coffee (not latte). I think you can have better food on Cafes outside. I usually had my breakfast at small bakery at 1min walk, with Cafe au Lait and a large bred for 4Euro, much better value. Will i come again? Definitely! Will bring partner next time.
My husband and I stayed here for two nights in mid January, 2007. We stayed here based on the good reviews from trip advisor but found it to be OK. The hotel has its pros and cons so it depends on what your looking for. The staff were friendly and helpful. They lock the doors at night and keep your key unti you return to your room. The location is convenient to the metro stop (although down a small alley). It's within walking distance of the Are de Triomphe. The rooms are clean but extremely small. I could not find an outlet or clock and there wasnt much room to put my luggage. The bathrooms aren't big at all (small shower) but are very clean with marble flooring. The elevator is big enough for two people with minimal luggage. Breakfast (not included for -12 euros) was in the lobby and did not look appetizing so we walked down the street to a cafe for coffee, juice, and pastries for only 6 euros every morning. I would reccommend this hotel for a safe place to sleep and shower but would look elsewhere the next time we are in paris.
In proximity of Etoile, the hotel is centrally located next to the Champs Elysées and 7 minutes away from La Défense. (Paris' version of Century City) This hotel is a business traveler’s ideal choice. To American standards the rooms may seem rather small, but remain well within European norms. What it lacks in size, the hotel makes up in comfort: the hotel has central “Air Conditioning” with individual temperature controls in each room. The bathrooms are immaculate. I personally like the marble tiling. In the “Club” rooms, the beds are actual queen size. Breakfast is a typical French continental style buffet. No eggs nor pancakes and no choice of bacon or sausage. Then again, you are in a foreign country and should eat local…. (There is a Mikky D’s up the street should comfort food cravings become too strong….) Service is the hotel’s “forte”. The hotel team is dedicated to making every guest’s stay as pleasurable as possible. They are extremely accommodating and provide exceptional assistance especially with reservations. Should they be sold out, they will take it on themselves to find accommodations for their regular guests in other hotels of similar price and quality. That level of commitment is rare, even in the US. In short, the hotel is an “Excellent choice”.
We had a very pleasant stay here. We just happen to randomly find this place online. We booked it only by looking at the pictures. The pictures were very true to the stay. The manager of the hotel was very kind to us as well as the other staff. Everyday we had a lot of questions and they helped us no matter what. It is greatly appreciated when you come to a city and you don't speak the language. He helped us with concert tickets (Le Rio Soleil) places for dinner and with the metro. We enjoyed our visit very much even though we only had 3 days. It was clean and friendly!! I would say the only downfall was that they didn't have a converter for us to use to go with there outlets. That was a bit of an inconvienence considering that we needed to charge our ipods and use a better blow dryer. We got by though. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
Except for the relative small room and elevator, the hotel is quite good. It is clean and easy access to the Metro, besides, there are also very helpful staffs!
Enjoyed my stay. It is modern, clean and very reasonable for Paris.
I've been staying at the Hotel Acacias Etoile in Paris with my husband, and we had a very nice stay there. The hotel is really beautiful, we enjoyed our room, small but so nicely furnished, very charming and quiet, with free wireless internet connection! The staff was always well-meaning and helpful. And we also enjoyed a tremendous location, right next to the Arc de triomphe and the Champs Elysees!
I use to travel all over the world and i just want to say that this littke hotel with some little room is so wonderfull. All the staff is so nice, so friendly, so polite, so helpfull. The location is exceptional near the arc de triomph and the champs elysees. Rooms are so clean and the must is that you have a free internet acces in your room and it's free of charge. Marvellous. Special thanks to Lisandro on the front desk and Bela wich is taking care of your breakfast and your room. Many thaks to all the team. Congratulation for the owners.
I stayed with my wife in an hotel near the Acacias etoile for the week-end then I came there for 4 days. It was a business stay. I really apreciate this little hotel very clean and confortable. The staff is wonderfull. They speak english, spanish, bresilian, russian and are all very helpfull and friendly. My room wasn't very large but so cute and clean. Free high speed internet in all the rooms. Also, this hotel is very near everything. Metro, shops, mounment like Ac de triomphe and champs elysees. I will keep a very good remember of this hotel. I will hightly recommand it.
Hotel is nice and comfortable, staff realy helpful. Location just excellent,2 min from metro,5 min to Arc,8-10 min to Champs-Élysées. Rooms a bit small, but club twin, that we stayed ,was nice, even with bath with big french window! good value for money. definitely I'll recommend this hotel for everybody!
I have been to the Hotel Acacias Etoile two times for business. I really loved the room, well decorated and incredibly clean. As I had to work during my stays, I really appreciated the free access to internet in the rooms. Yohan, Lisandro and the rest of the staff were very polite, friendly and spoked fluent English, they were very helpful by providing details directions and making suggestions for restaurants. It is a pity I never came with my boyfriend because it is a very charming and nice hotel for couples. Christina from California
From July 20 to 23 me and my girlfriend stayed at the Acacias Etoile in Paris. We returned on the 22nd at 11p.m. to our room and found our suitcase not in the way we have left our room. Our money was hidden under the used laundry but now we realized that 200 Euros were missing. The receptionist was not able to help us and refused to call the police. We organised our complaint at the police on our own. The next morning another receptionist told us that the chief of the hotel was absent and he has talked to the cleaning personal. They refused to have taken the money and so the incident was finished for him. The safe in our room was closed, so we could not use it. Although we know we should insist on a safe I think a little bit more cooperation of the staff would have been helpful. The person who has stolen the money is still working for the hotel.
I stayed at the Acacias for 6 nights this past July. Paris was very hot (but not as hot as Rome), and I was very glad I had booked a place with A/C (which worked well--even by American standards). Overall, it proved to be my most comfortable accommodation during my three weeks in Europe and, located only 2 blocks from the Argentine metro station(itself only 2 blocks from the Arc de Triumphe), very convenient. I averaged about 85 Euros per night and booked the room on Bookings. The hotel is small (3-5 rooms per floor) but very attractive and well-managed. The desk staff was courteous, helpful, and spoke English. The single room, though small (even smaller than NYC), was immaculate and had a 3/4 bed (between a twin and full-size). Room also included an honor bar/refrigerator, limited cable, and phone. On two days, I opted for the breakfast (10 Euros), which provided a satisfying start for the day and plenty of coffee. (Note: Coffee comes small and expensive in Paris and is usually not carried in places where you'd most expect it, i.e., the delicious bakeries.) One evening, when I returned with a bottle of white wine, the hotel staff member provided me with a wine bucket AND ICE! (N.B.: There are very few places anywhere in Europe with available ice.) Lots of eateries nearby in this safe and beautiful neighborhood. Positives: good dollar value; convenient location; very clean and quiet; superb staff; GREAT air conditioning Negative: very small shower; tiny elevator (really should be used only when transporting heavy luggage)
I stayed here with my girlfriend for 2 nights and i am i have nothing but praise. Very friendly staff, VERY clean rooms and extremely reasonably priced. Location was perfect, very central just 2 mins walk to the arc de triumph. Very happy travellers :-)
The Acacias Etoile Hotel is located close to the Arc de Triumphe and provides an excellent base for exploring Paris during a short visit. Right beside Argentine Metro station, one stop or a 5 minute walk from Port Maillot bus station it could not be handier for travellers who fly into Beauvais Airport (RyanAir). The hotel has a fresh, well maintained feel to it compared to many Paris 3 stars and the room, although small, was extremely clean and comfortable. We did not avail of the breakfasts but there was a well stocked mini bar and the hotel is beside many cafes/takeaways/bars/ate night grocery stores if provisions are required. The staff were friendly and helpful & more than willing to speak English when required. Overall would highly recommend this well priced little hotel and we will definitley return there when next visiting Paris.
We stayed at this great hotel in the middle of March 2006. We would definitely recommend this hotel to people traveling to Paris. Pros: - The hotel is located minutes away from Arc de Triomphe. The Argentine metro stop is a quick walk up the street, the RER station to Versailles is about 10 min walk and the RER station to Gare du Nord/Charles de Gualle Airport is about 10 min walk as well. Very convenient. - Little grocery stores nearby (BTW, when you got out of the Argentine metro stop and walk towards the hotel, do NOT go to the first grocery store on the right - We wanted to get a bottle of water for the night and the shop owner quoted us Euro 1.50. This is not the first time we got water from a grocery store, which normally runs about Euro 0.80-0.90 for a big bottle). Go to the ones after you walk past the hotel. - Quiet residential neighborhood, at least I felt safe. - Nice and new decor. I am not sure why the previous comments said the decor was old. I went to 4 different hotels in 4 different countries and I must say this hotel has new and nice decor. Even my mom was very satisfied. Maybe the previous commentor stayed at the building near the garden side? Our room faced the main street instead of the garden. - Showerhead is strong and perfect. - Small fridge available in the room. - Extremely clean room. I am a very picky person when it comes to cleanliness and the room was spotless. - Great and helpful staff. One time my mom was not feeling well and they provided us with a hot pot where we could make hot water in our room. Cons: - Relatively small room and shower stall. The smallest room for our trip in Europe. But this was not a concern for us since we were out almost 100% during daylight. But if you have big lugguages, then perhaps it maybe too small for you. We only had 2 carry-ons with us. - Breakfast is not included in our hotel rates. This is fine as there is a very nice pastisserie at the corner near the Argentine metro. Others: - As in many other European hotels, we needed to bring our own shampoo/conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste. - The hotel recommended us a restaurant called Le Galvacher. I must agree that the restaurant had really great food. But when it came to paying tips (services), I asked the waitress if tips were included and she said no. She said the 19% on the bill all went to the government. So I paid 15% extra as tips for that meal. This tip thing got me confused as I dined at another restaurant and the waitress said it's all included in the 19%. I did my homework beforehand and the guidebook says "ask the waiter." I still couldn't figure it out, even after returning from Europe. Irregardless, I will go to that restaurant again since the food is awesome and the price is right. You cannot get the same thing in NYC for that price (excluding the 15% of my tip). Conclusion: All in all, highly recommend staying at this hotel. I will be staying there again for my next trip to Paris.
I chose the Hotel Acacias Etoile mostly because of price and the pictures on the site. Also because our first choice hotel was booked up for the weekend. First impression in the lobby was that this was a newly renovated hotel and everything was updated. Once we got to our room, however, I'd say I was underwhelmed. I give it a 3.5. Accommodations: The room was clean, but definitely old. Most of the renovation must have taken place in the common areas (the lobby, dining area). The room just wasn't as fresh - old tv, old telephone, repainted (not for the first time) closet cabinet with a weird stain in the bottom of it. Compared to other places I've stayed at in Europe, it was okay, but I just expected more. On a positive note, again, it was clean, and positively roomy by European standards. It even boasted a mini bar - a convenience I never expected! The bathroom was roomy, but the shower was a bit dangerous. There was no curtain (not surprising in Europe), but the glass partition used to keep the water contained actually wasn't aligned along the rim of the bathtub, so water still dripped onto the floor. Plus the glass stuck out a bit, and just seemed like an accident waiting to happen. As for the hair dryer - forget it. Again, old, and had no real power to it. Our room faced a small 'courtyard', and we appeared to be the only ones staying in that part of the hotel, so we heard very little noise. Location: The hotel is located minutes away from the Arc de Triomphe, and the area has lots of little cafes. Just across from the Arc is the Champs Elysées, so it's a wonderfully convenient stroll. Lateral cafe is a short walk away, as well, and we enjoyed their food, though the waiter tried to convince us that service was not included in our bill. Another waiter at a different restuarant assured us that service is indeed included on all resturant bills in France. I never got the whole thing figured out, but someone at our hotel assured us that giving a tip wasn't necessary and if you did leave one, 1-2 Euros was plenty. The Argentine metro stop is a quick walk up the street - you pass a wonderful pastisserie on the way, so check it out. A small convenience store was nearby, but the selection was tiny. The area in general is very quiet. The hotel is not very close to Gard du Nord, so if you're catching the Eurostar and plan on taking a cab, make sure to leave plenty of travel time, as traffic can be a nightmare! Staff: The staff is what made the difference for me. While the hotel itself wasn't anything to write home about, the hotel staff was terrific. Everyone who covered the front desk was more than happy to help with any questions or suggestions. During our stay, they called many cabs for us, did our wake-up calls, and were just a delight in general. On our last day, they let us store our luggage in a small holding area and didn't charge for the convenience; whatever they could do to make your stay more comfortable, they went out of their way to do it. In general the stay turned out to be quite nice, though I was happy to return to my hotel in London (Quality Crown Hotel Paddington). Again, the staff were outstanding, but I just wish there had been more 'new' in the room.
I booked at the Acacias based on traveler reviews I found on the Internet and was not disappointed. Pros: - Outstanding staff: Lissandro and the others were always very helpful and accomodating. Lissandro went to great lengths to ensure we had a great Paris visit. Unfortunately, Lissandro has moved on to other employment opportunities but the other members of the staff were also very pleasant. - Very clean and nicely decorated room and hotel. - Good location: An easy walk to the Champ-Elysee and good restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the hotel (dinner recommendation - L'Ecluse on the corner); very close to the Argentine Metro stop - Price was a relatively good value - Allowed pets Cons: - Room was a bit smaller than other European hotels we've stayed in - Breakfast is too expensive (recommend the bakery on the corner across from L'Ecluse for a cafe and pastry) - Only one electrical outlet available for use - Not a good choice if you value a nice view from your room My cons are minor in my opinion and did not detract from our experience at the Acacias. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
