I booked a double premium room at this hotel on venere.com . Got confirmation from the hotel for a premium double room.When i called the hotel directly after a couple of weeks, it turned out they were fully booked and the only room they had for me was a cheap room without a bathroom.Bathroom was in the hallway. When i stated that i have a confirmation for a premium room, they said it was a computer error and nothing could be done to correct the problem.I asked why wasn't i informed by email of a room change.There was no responce for that. If i didn't call the hotel directly, i would have never found out about the switch! That's a very bad service.I cancelled my reservation with them immediately.Needless to say ,I wouldn't think of staying in that hotel .

After reading the good reviews we were a little disappointed. The hotel is very dated and our room had massive green and gold couches that looked very odd. The bathroom wasn't too modern but the water pressure was great and it was clean. I guess after staying at more modern places around Europe, this hotel was a bit of a shock. However it was much cheaper that we paid elsewhere, I just think our expectations were probably a bit high. Dijon is easy to walk around so the hotel was in a good location. We were there on a Saturday and it is fun to walk around the markets. We also did a Segway tour and had many laughs. This can be booked from the tourist information office and you can either do a city or park tour. We did the parks and saw other bits of Dijon we wouldn't have seen. We also did a wine tour - which was with a knowledgeable tour guide but you don't actually stop at vineyards, just drive around then do some tasting at one place. (not like tours in NZ/Australia). However did get to see lovely scenery. Would also recommend catching the train to Beaune, beautiful little town to explore (lots of wine tasting!)

It is in a great location but the room itself is a little dated. The room could get a bit stuffy as they wasn't any air conditioning. We couldn't leave the windows open whilst we went out because we were on the ground floor. Le Bout de la Rue, restaurant a couple of doors down serves delicious moules and frites (mussels and fries) which is worth going to. The parking station is about 10 mins walk and you should drop your luggage at the hotel, not convenient to haul it from the parking station. Also, the Dijon mustard museum was a big disappointment. I thought it would be more related to the making of mustard and we would get a factory tour but it's not! I would consider staying here again.

We booked the hotel for an overnight stopover after reading the excellent reviews in Trip Advisor. The room was a suite of bedroom, bathroom and sitting room which apart from slightly grubby armchairs (would have benefitted from loose covers) was far better than we were paying for. Fabrice on reception spoke excellent english and was very helpful but the other 2 receptionists gave my French a good test. We had only a few hours in Dijon and the little we saw made us wish we'd had more time. Will definitely go back and probably to Le Jaquemart.

We (family of 5) stayed at this hotel for two nights in August 2006. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The hotel is a modest two-star facility ; the type that makes you wish all 5-star hotels turn into two-star ones like this! Clean but spaceous room (we had a family room, in fact, more like a suite as it was made of two rooms/chambers), quite, excellent location, excellent rate and friendly staff. It's literally in the middle of all the historical buildings and museums. The only problem: no internet access from the room! There's an "internet station" in the lobby but at outrageous rates (I think 3-4 Euros for 15 min...but I may be wrong. I just remember it was not a fair price). I should poin out that it appeared to me that this "station" was kind of, like those arcade game machines in that probably the operator was not the hotel itself. Also worth mentioning: Dijon is a little gem in France that has not gained the fame it deserves. There are lots and lots of interesting places to visit and I think I'll return there in future for a longer stay. I'll attach some photos, both of the hotel and of the city attractions.

We found this hotel to be the perfect place to stay in the perfect place for a short break. The staff were friendly and it couldn't be better placed for all of the sites of Dijon, right on the edge of the pedestrianised heart of Dijon. It is attractively higgledy-piggly as a hotel with a low staircase over a corridor which caught me out every time (although the bruises have faded now!) Our room was light and clean and had everything you could need, while being full of character as well, and very French. We were fortunate to have a great view as well (which I don't think they all had). All in all, great value and a very decent hotel.

Great value for your Euro! Travelling with two teens can be expensive and difficult to accomodate in one room. The prices were reasonable so was able to book two rooms, they looked across an open area into each other! Our rooms were basic but clean with very friendly and helpful staff. Great location, just wished we could stay longer!

What an awesome stay!!! Hotel room was HUGE!!! Especially in comparison to other European hotels. We stayed in a room on the 3rd floor that consisted of a huge bathroom, sitting area, and large bedroom. Balcony overlooked quiet street. Bathroom was spotlessly clean and looked newly remodeled. Room very comfortable and clean. Stay included breakfast every morning for about 60 Euros a night. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a great value. Staff is very friendly also. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a charming hotel for such a reasonable price. We booked a standard room for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. The room was much larger than I anticipated, and comfortable. The bathroom looked like it was recently renovated, and decor was pleasant. Noise-wise, there were no problems. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Our family just came back from two nights at the Hotel le Jacquemart in Dijon. It is located in the heart of the old town on a quiet street. We walked to everything-- the location was great! The hotel is the best value I have found yet in our family travels (we live in Switzerland and travel around Europe frequently). We paid Euro 70 for a quad room-- even though we have 4 children (so 6 people in total), our twin one year olds stayed free in our room. The room was clean, nicely furnished and large and the bathroom was new-- all for Euro 70!! The common rooms were a bit dark (perfectly clean, just a lack of light). Overall, the Hotel Le Jacquemart is the BEST value going; it's not a 5 star and doesn't claim to be, but it is clean, comfortable and the location can't be beat. Dijon is a wonderful small city-- so beautiful. All museums are free which is an added bonus. We ate one night at the mussle restaurant 'La Bout de la Rue' down the street from the hotel and it was also really good and really inexpensive (Euro 11 for a huge bowl of fresh mussles and a big plate of fries-- this is all they serve, but they do it well). And the Boulangerie across the street was excellent. Three days in Dijon was not long enough-- we'll be back!

This hotel was quaint and nice. Our room was small, but the bed was comfortable. The room had a brand new shower and sink. The place was quiet, the guests and staff were friendly, and it was in a good location.

it says a lot about about a place when people have to criticise its stairs to find a fault with it. in other words, everything about this place is good. its clean, rooms are spacious, bathrooms are excellent and above all, its extremely cheap. everywhere else i stayed on my trip was a youth hostel, hence nowhere near as comfortable but often more expensive. for 16 euros each me and fellow traveller got a twin room with a tv and more space than we knew what to do with. and this was an 'economy' room - the lowest class available. so i highly recommend this hotel, especially if you are a backpacker. i wouldnt recommend staying more than one night as djijon doesnt have an awful lot to offer but if your headed in that general direction whilst on your travels then its worth it just for a night of reasonably-priced comfort. if im to pick fault then a couple of members of staff were a bit off. one guy seemed intent on speaking to us in french despite the fact that he spoke good english, he knew we were english, and their website advertises english-speaking staff. call me an ignorant englishman but this seemed weird

This hotel is an excellent value with exceptional staff who go out of their way to help. This is not an Omni nor a Hilton, although the bathrooms are first rate and appear brand, spanking new, the rooms are small and old, but clean and comfortable. The hotel is central, a 5-10 minute walk to the convention center and in the center of Old Dijon. The only problem was an internet connection on the computer in the lobby that only worked intermittently.

Easy to reach from station, taxi fare 6e. Stairs difficult if you have heavy/bulky luggage. Our room was spacious on 2nd floor accessed via patio. Good lighting, safe & secure, excellent water pressure in our bath/shower and very clean. We considered it great value at 48e. Reception helpful, mainly English speaking. Some noise via open windows and plumbing (close bathroom door to solve later). Great neighbourhood, safe, interesting and walk to Beaux Arts. Had dinner at the Creperie over the street from the hotel, English menu available, nice meal and cheap - try Amanda dessert.

Highly recommended! Good location: in the heart of Dijon. Not very expensive. Good service. Comfortable. It's a good decision, when you try to find good hotel in Dijon.

The Jacquemart has a wonderful location in the beautiful Antiquarian Quarter of Dijon, very close to the Ducal Palace and Museum of Fine Arts, and within walking distance of mostly everything a tourist would want to do. With its decent prices and perfect location, it's very popular and was completely full all 3 nights we were there. Our room, Number 27, was under the eaves facing the street. Though not as grand in size as some of the rooms on the lower floors, it was clean and bright and comfortable. (And yes, as another writer mentioned, there was good water pressure and plenty of hot water.) The lobby is charming in a sort of old-style, "grandmother's house" way, with heavy wooden furniture, a fish tank and fake flowers. (And a computer with Internet connection.) Breakfast was fine if not particularly lavish. The staff members were all very nice and helpful.

I think we had the same room as the previous reviewer, when we stayed at the Jaquemart in Feb 05. Room 17 is a spacious double with a firm bed that looks on to the (quiet) street. It has recently been refurbished, with its yellow walls. The smaller double next door looked as if it had been too. I caught a glimpse of other rooms, however, that didn't look as salubrious. There are only stairs up to the rooms, which are spread over two floors above ground level. Our room was clean and warm (snowed every day we were in Dijon) and the shower/bath was hot with good pressure. The breakfast was OK - not great - but enough to fortify us for the cold. The staff were most pleasant and helpful. The hotel is very central - same block as the antiques shops. There's a variety of eateries close, ranging from moderately exxy restaurants to a creperie (opposite) and good Chinese food a few blocks away.

For 55 euros, we had a large room with double bed. Room was newly wall paperd and painted. Marble bath was new. Charming decor. Location was great. In the middle of the historic district. I would not have stayed anywheres else

I stayed there with a couple friends earlier this year. Located near to everything you'd want to see in the old town and fabulous service. Best part was waking up to the smell of fresh bread baking. Clean and comfortable. We had cars though and drove out to dinner one night.

My wife, friends and I stayed at the Jacquemart while in transit to Lausanne, Switzerland....the hotel itself was in a very nice, antique section of the city.....however, all restaurants and shops closed down so early that it was nearly impossible to find dinner without walking VERY far! The room was clean, although not spotless....as was the hotel....service perfunctory. Nevertheless, I would recommend it for its charm.....as long as you are not staying for a long time!

Hotel le Jacquemart proved to be the perfect hotel for my stay in Dijon. It is located in a medieval building on a winding street of similar buildings full of antique shops. The street is quiet, but in two minutes, you can walk to the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy, the heart of the old city, and in no more than 15 minutes to any of the other tourist sites and excellent restuarants of Dijon. The hotel is charming from the outside, with window boxes of flowers on wrought-iron balconies. Inside it is old fashioned, with heavy dark furniture. My room was rather basic and a little shabby, but comfortable. The recently remodelled bathroom was large, modern, and spotlessly clean. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. They kept my luggage from my checkout in the morning until my train to Paris in the evening. The price was 42 Euros for one person; if shared with another person the same room would have been 46--excellent value for such a good location. The only drawback was lack of an elevator--my room was two floors up from the lobby and the staircases were narrow. That was no problem for me, but might be for someone elderly or handicapped. I would definitely stay there again.
