The Hotel 16 was recommended by our friends and we can confirm it was the best choice. During our trip to Europe there was the best service ever in the Hotel 16. It is very nice small familly hotel were the hospitality of the staff overcame our expectation and experience. We can highly recommend the Hotel 16 to everybody who plans to go to Prague.

We just returned from a 5 day holiday in Prague (October 6th to 10th). We stayed in Hotel 16, it has been suggested from a friend who was there last spring. Our expectations were in the average but we have been positively surprised, the Hotel 16 is very nice because it is not a big hotel, we have found it very clean (I use to "smell" a room as soon as I enter in it to understand if it is clean and I use to look around to find the dust in the corners!) and the personnel is very gentle. We choose a junior suite apartment at the first floow (room 11) with windows toward the internal garden and also the internal hall. The room (and all the hotel) seem new or recently refurbished, new furnitures, new toilets. The shower is very confortable and big, I hate when you have the shower and water is pouring every where because the doors are not closing enough. In the morning you can have a good breakfast including ham, salami, different kind of cheese and bread, croissant, yougurt, honey, jam, fruits,... The hotel is quite well positioned, it is not in the center of Prague nor in the old town, but you can anyway reach every part of the town by walking, we used the tram 2 times in 5 days. Arriving from the airport we choose not to take a taxi but using tram and metro. In about 30 minutes you arrive in the hotel with a cost of about 3 or 4 euro. Just take tram 119 out of the airport, after 21 minutes you reach the starting point of metro green line A, get it for 5 stops, then drop down at Muzeum stop, change to red line C for 1 stop and drop drown to IP Pavlova. Walk for 5 minutes, you are in the hotel. The cost is a little better than the other hotels because it is not in the center but this was not a problem as I said before. A nice surprise: you can order a cup of tea and they will bring it directly in the room, all for free. Small things that make your stay happy. As a conclusion it was a positive experience, I am already recommending the hotel to some friends going to Prague in the next months.

The room was small but very adequate. We had a third floor rear and it was comforable and very quiet. Bath included an adequate shower and the air conditioning work just fine. Breakfast was included and was served with a smile. It included enough goodies to serve anyone's breakfast needs. Hotel is a bit away from the main stream, but is serviced by the tram, after a short walk. Suggest anyone using this hotel get a good tram map showing the routes. This will save you money. The cab drivers MUST be watched very carefully as they, for the most, have no integrity and will charge whatever they think they can get away with. (Note: the cabs summoned by the hotel, however, are just fine)

This is an A++ rated hotel the staff are helpful and friendly the room we had was immaculate, the breakfast was well up to standard. In fact in our opinion there was nothing to fault. We would recommend it to anyone.

Stayed at this small family run hotel with a group of friends. Very impressed with service and cleanliness. Have stayed in worse 4 and 5 star hotels. No tea or coffee making facilities in room however tea was brought to room on request free of charge. Mini bar very reasonable. Breakfast continential style. Some of the rooms had an extra seating area which was handy. About 10 mins walk from main areas. would reccomend this hotel. Even brought us drinks to our room at 4 am! with a smile!

I stayed in this wonderful hotel with a group of friends. The staff were really helpful in every aspect from explaining the places to visit in the city of Prague to bringing us drinks at midnight! The rooms were very comfortable and breakfast consisted of a wide range of continental choices. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We found and book this place referencing Rick Steves' tour book. We were at Hotel 16 in the middle of September. Throughout our stays, staffs were hospitable and helpful. They provided suggestions on touring routes, riding tips of metro and tram, and many more. The hotel was impeccable clean and well equipped. Even the mini-bar was fair priced, just to provide convenience, instead of ripping off its customers. The hotel is located in Praha 2, 10 minutes stroll from the Wenceslas square. Yes, there were some graffiti in the neighborhood, but it was safe around the hotel. We walked back to hotel every night between 8 to 11 at night. The tourist route tram 22 and 23 is only two blocks away, metro C line is three blocks away. It took about 15 ~ 20 minutes to get to bus station Florenc by metro. We surely will return to Hotel 16 if we shall visit Prague again.

We were on a business trip to Prague for the first time. Our business associate in Prague recommended this hotel based on our budget. The hotel is in a 3-storey terrace building. On first sight, it does not leave a strong impression. However, for us, that was immediately dispelled by the friendly and smart looking receptionist. The rooms are nicely furnished and the bathroom truly sparkingly bright and clean. Breakfast is cold but the quality of the food is super. Cheese are excellent. I changed U$100 at the foreign exchange downtown and the rates were very bad despite the advertised figures. I got 1,500 KC on 22 Sep 2007. The Hotel 16 rate is much better. I got 1,900 KC for U$100 on 25 Sep 2007. The additional 400 KC can buy for 2 good dinners in the Czech restaurants. The receptionist could recommend some good Czech restaurants within walking distance. Our favourite is Pivovarsky Dum which serves traditional Czech cuisine. Kindly avoid U Kalicha which is a tourist trap. Food is bad, beer is weak and service atrocious despite others' review. We downed our weak beer which cost 350 KC for 3 of us and left in a hurry. Hotel 16 would rate a high 8 out of 10 for the rate it charges. Truly value for money.

Hotel 16 is a charming small hotel in a quiet area, a bit off the beaten path. It is only about a 10 minute walk to Wenceslas Square and just a few blocks from the best brewpub in Prague and several very good restaurants. We had a small group in four rooms for five nights and everyone enjoyed the stay. The staff is bright , knowledgeable, and cheery and will help you with any question or need large or small. Breakfast is very good with fresh, tasty breads. Rooms are immaculate and those overlooking the lovely rear garden are quiet and airy. Rates are reasonable. If you want to feel welcome, Hotel 16 knows how to do it. We would definitely go back.

Hotel 16 is a cute little hotel with a friendly staff. The location is not perfect - it's about 10 minutes south of Wenceslas Square in New Town but only a couple minutes from a tram and Metro station. On the other hand, it's a very quiet street. Our room opened up to the garden giving it a very secluded feel. We were down the hall from the check-in desk (and bar) so there was some noise from the inside of the hotel. Rooms were not huge but were fine, although the shower door took some getting used to. Breakfast was included and was fine but not huge. I think that we were the only Americans there, which is a plus. There is a public internet terminal, although I think they also offer wireless if you have your own computer. The guy at the desk graciously welcomed us when we arrived at four in the morning and recommended some restaurants in the area, including a nice brewpub. There's not a ton of restaurants in the area but there are a few good options. Ideally I would have liked to have stayed in a quieter area of Little Quarter or the Jewish Quarter but the hotels there are much more expensive. Other areas are busier and are less appealing to me as places to stay. If you are looking for a less expensive option in Prague, Hotel 16 is a good one.

My wife and I just got back from a trip to Europe that ended with a four night stay in Prague. We ended up choosing the Hotel 16 based upon a the review in Rick Steves' guide, and are very happy that we did. The hotel is just a few short blocks away from the major tram lines and a metro stop, and an easy walk to Wenceslas square in the new town. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the room was one of the best we had in the trip.

5 minutes from the metro, 2 minutes from the tram this little hotel provides comfort, friendliness and quiet enjoyment. It is on a bedraggled street but the hotel does stand out. It is family run, and it tells. Upgrades have been made each year. We stayed with our young daughter in a suite for three. She loved her own little room and we were very comfortable. No bath after a long day sightseeing but a good strong shower. Brilliant night-time receptionist, but all employees were so friendly - to my daughter too which, as she´s 9, doesn,t always happen. We looked at other places in the old town and on Wenceslas Square. They really don´t compare. Stay here, if you?e not looking for a noisy nightlife, and you wo´t be disappointed.

Walking down to this little hotel I was a little dismayed to find all the surounding buildings empty and scruffy looking. But Hotel 16 stands out, no wider than a terraced house, beautifully clean and bright. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, the decor quite original with art deco lamps, digitised images of Prague buildings on the walls and four separate chiming clocks in the breakfast room. Not the most obvious of locations tucked away behind a medical school, so you'll need to take a tram to the centre, but the trams are frequent, and this is a family run hotel, the perfect andidote to large impersonal places. Everything we wanted, in particular a nice tray of tea at any time we wanted it. I'd go again.

A cosy hotel, with friendly staff, whenever you arrive. Very well price - quality level. Good breakfast and relaxed chaeck out times.... so wacha waiting for?
