Second stay. This time in Feb-08, last time was Nov-07. Just been there for a new nights on both occasions. A déjà vu feeling returning due to the fragrant scent of rose leafs. In fact, the longer you stay, the more sticky the scent escalates. Don't know where it comes from? Rooms are nice. Gym + pool area + spa is gr8. Breakfast was not included in our rate, so we went at both times to the very nice and friendly Café Colours just around the corner. Left, left, next to a 7-11 equivalence. Also tried the hotel pub restaurant, food was OK. They also serve alcohol disguised. Tried the lunch buffet in the a la carte restaurant, which was really good. Internet connection didn't work at 1st stay. Got ticked off by continuously being informed that it would take another 10 mins and then it would be up again. 10 mins turned out to be 1½ days. Also had issues at 2nd stay. Tried to register eligible AF mileage points at first stay. No points ever showed. Complained along with my 2nd stay. They got my card again, and did promise that both 1st + 2nd stay now would show. Nothing has shown as of yet. Quite disappointing. Overall, they have got service ambitions..

The hotel is well situated between Tunis and Carthage and near the airport, but adequately soundproofed. Probably best if you have your own car; sufficient parking. Food was very good with a strong French influence. The only surprise was that the hotel stocks only three Tunisian wines; apparently because the site was bought from a strict Saudi. As we were coming from dry Libya, this was an unpleasnat surprise! Rooms are good, although matresses are soft in the French tradition. Spa facilities are good. Free internet, although WIFI is only in the lobby. They have spare ethernet cables.

The hotel was beautiful, breakfast wonderful, and the spa was gorgeous. The views of the lake from our room were amazing. You need to rent a car to get around, but the area will soon be like Manhattan's Soho in Tunis.

I was really surprised by this Hotel.

I stayed at the Concorde Les Berges du Lac for two weeks in May. The hotel is modern and and the rooms are comfortable. I had one of the larger corner rooms with a veiw of Lake Tunis. As mentioned in a previous review, the hotel is close to the airport, but the rooms are well insulated and noise is not a problem. The hotel is relatively new, but there are some quirks. Sensors on the sliding doors control the air conditioning and they are prone to malfunction. It is an easy fix--just unlock the door, open the door and slam it shut; but It is annoying as it happens often. Once during my stay, the maintenance staff had to come for a more permanent fix. A colleague told of problems with the bathroom drains and toilet--kind of surprising for such a new hotel. For the most part, the staff was friendly and helpful, but there were some exceptions--somewhat surprising at this upscale property. There were no irons or ironing boards available, which was an inconvenience and perhaps meant as an incentive to use the hotel laundry services? For me, the most disappointing thing about the Concorde was the food. The breakfast buffet offered many choices--just about anything you could wish. It looked wonderful--BUT the food was,at best, OK. Another surprise for a French hotel chain that includes the Concorde and the Ambassador in Paris. We tried the formal dining room, the lobby lounge and the less formal dining room, but the food was only average. The good news is that there are a couple of nice restaurants withing easy walking distance, and more are on the way. The hotel is loacated in a suburban area that is being developed at a very fast rate. I suspect in two years there will be many cafes, mini marts and the like which will go along way to help with the feeling of being isolated. It is an alcolhol free zone (part of the contracts that were signed to develop the area) , but one can enjoy beer or wine at the hotel--for a price and behind closed doors and you have to ask. This is customary in many parts of Tunisia and you get used to it. The hotel pool looks very nice (I did not try it) and the fitness center has first rate exercise equipment (treadmill, bike, elipitical trainer, etc.). There is a spa offering a wide range of services, but I did not try it. Interestingly, there was no scale for those of us who like to keep track of our weight. Like the lack of irons and ironing boards, a little thing but not in keeping with the upscale profile of the property.

The hotel was literally 5 mins from the airport, so I would highly recommend it for catching early flights. I also contacted the hotel and got a cheaper 'room only' rate as we left way too early for breakfast. The hotel is smart and even by European standards it is genuinely a 4 star place. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room and bathroom were spacious and as luxurious as expected. The pool and spa were wonderful and room service dinner was surprisingly tasty, with ridiculously huge servings. We also found wine in the min bar (hurrah) - though not in the bar in the reception. On the downside, it is located in the middle of nowhere, though I suppose everywhere is reasonably close by taxi (though every taxi driver in Tunis tried to rip me off and wouldn’t use the meter). The surrounding area is a complete building site with new properties being build on all sides. Due to the construction noise and generally being surrounded by workmen, with little within walking distance, I would recommend this as an airport stop off, or as a business hotel.

Excellent 5 star hotel with all you wait from a 5 star. The reception desk was very polite and professional. We asked for a baby cot and it was ready when we entered the room. The view from the room was amazing. The inside swimming pool is very nice. They need to improve the variety of the menu of the Brasserie restaurant and add some more "patisseries". For the price, it's an excellent value

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel on urgent business. I checked in without a reservation. The front desk was very courteous and professional. The hotel is 5 Star luxurious. The rooms and bathrooms are all first class. The only downside was the buffet. It was small with little variety. But that was probably due to the high vacancy of the hotel. The hotel was open some 8 months ago. The management needs to put more effort in advertising. Even the taxi driver had a hard time find the place. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to all business travels and exec's. The service, cleanliness is all top notice.

Best thing is free fast internet in every room and wireless internet in the lobby areas. Worst thing is it's in an area of Tunis that is alcohol-free. Oh, it's very close to the airport, less than 10 minutes drive, but you won't hear the planes. Good for checking out at the last minute to catch that flight.

Very good hotel with excellent service & breakfast. The SPA facilities are very good too. Just one word of caution, the hotel does not serve alcohol at all so if you fancy a bottle of wine with your dinner or fancy a drink at the bar at night, this is not the place for you!
