Do not stay at this hotel. On arrival we were forced to pay up front for one night's stay. Once checked in we were forced to carry our bags up the steep stairs as there was no bell boy willing to help us and no lift. On entering our room we noticed that the switch on the A/C had broken and we couldn't turn the A/C on. After complaining we went straight out to the sites as we wanted to see as many sites as we could, only having an afternoon. When we arrived back to our room we turned on the A/C, which was now fixed. After getting ready to go out for dinner we started to notice a faint eggy smell that seemed to be getting worse. We went out for our meal and on our return the smell had got worse. We weren't sure if the A/C was the source or there was a leaky sewage pipe but either way it was unpleasant and potentially dangerous. After complaining to the night manager about the now unbearable smell we asked to change rooms. Unfortunately, the hotel was full, so he agreed to take a look at our room. At first he admitted smelling the smell, and then in a complete u-turn - a split second later - he then denied there was a smell. We then asked if he could transfer us to another room in the Accor's stable in Rabat as it was now getting late and we didn't want to find a new hotel. He refused. We then asked for our money back (as we'd been forced to pay upfront) and he only agreed to give us half back as we had already been in the room half a day. We pointed out that we'd been forced out of the room immediately because the A/C was broken but he still refused to budge. Needless to say we left and are currently taking up the matter with Ibis here in the UK.

This hotel shocked and disappointed me as far as cleanliness was concerned. The public areas of the hotel were ok, but my room was really dirty, it was horrible and I'm glad I was only there for 1 night. I was afraid to walk on the carpet with my shoes off. It was either here or the Ibis Moussafir in marrakesh that I caught some Moroccan toe-jam goblins too. To start off with there was the dirty carpet. The tiles in the bathroom looked like they had a film of grime covering them also. I had to call a staff member to come in and properly close the window, it looked like it had been jimmyed open on more than one occassion. I was a solo female traveller with an expensive camera, I didn't feel like having someone break in during the night. My sheets and bedspread seemed clean but had some unexplainable stains on them. I tried not to think about it. The shower was pretty grotty. It looked like the cleaning staff had never paid any attention to cleaning the tiles properly, there were black mould spots throughout the grout. The water also didn't drain very well, so who knows what nasties were lurking in the drain and allowed to refloat? I hated the fact that I couldn't drink the tap water but in Morocco that's a given all over. I think the hotel sells litre bottles of drinking water which was handy, and a good money-making scheme. The food was totally acceptable though. The food here was better than a 4 star hotel I stayed at in Fes. It was safe to eat, didn't give me the squirty bum of ramadam, what a relief! I can't remember what the staff were like. This probably means they were average, probably not overly friendly but not nasty either. For an english-speaking guest like me, they seemed to speak enough to get by. The easiest way I found to access my funds were to exchange euro notes at the front desk for Dirhams. I had problems with some of the ATMs accepting my card, so this exchange of euros thing worked really well and all of the hotels in Morocco that I stayed in were able to do it for me. You may find internet access a challenge. I didn't bother trying to find internet access in Morocco. I figured that once I found a cafe and worked out how much it was for how long, I would be presented with an arabic keyboard. So I didn't bother. I think there would be one around the corner somewhere. There is a small shopping area right near the hotel.

When i looked under the bed i saw roaches, so i told the manager and he said it was impossible. so i showed him and he said he would take care of it! but all he did was fling them off the bed and said he would call the exterminators later. i was so mad i just went to another better loking hotel. this hotel is good if your on the cheap side and dont mind bugs, but if you want good service and a bugless room, id suggset that you should go to another hotel.

This hotel was exactly what you expect from an Ibis. Very standard, clean, and basic. The check in staff spoke English, but weren't overly friendly or helpful. The location was good, walking distance from the train station, and only a 50pence taxi ride in town or the medina.

Stayed here two nights with my wife near the start of Ramadan as we were departing Morocco. Rooms were higher quality than Casablanca but staff here were even less helpful than Casa. The hotel contained no gin even though the bar was serving alcoholic drinks to guests. The local bottled beer was flat. The restaurant was appalling - we had to ask reception staff to arouse the waiters in order to get seated. Ramadan was not a good time to stay at this hotel
