I had read th reviews on this site before I went and wasn't looking forward to going... The main reception is beautiful, the rooms were clean, maintained and alot bigger than they look on the photos. The pool area is also clean and they dont let people leave their towels on beds all day if they are not there-although there are plenty of beds for everyone. What the brochure doesn't state is that there is a new pool at the other end of the gardens, which is lovely. Location is excellent-right on the beach and close to the shops. The only complaint I have is that the entertainment is spoke in french first then english, which made it very hard to understand. The entertainment staff and bar staff are lovely and very helpful. Overall it has been a fantastic holiday and I would deffinately stop at Club Al Moggar again.

I stayed at the hotel with two girlfriends in february 2008, we wanted a cheapish holiday somewhere hot, and the travel agent came up with Morocco. None of us had previously considered visiting this country and although it would be a one off holiday we are glad we visited. The hotel was decent enough for what we paid. Upon arriving we were impressed and were quickly shown to our rooms, which were basic. The rooms seemed reasonably clean, and were cleaned everyday, usually whilst we were out, and only rarely after 3pm. Everything seemed to work fine, the phone was fine the one time we needed to use it, the shower was usually good, except one particular day when it ran yellow briefly. Although this once only once and we had no problems later. We had a lovely sea view and soon realised that the balcony was a great sun trap. The pools were great, although we spent most of our time at the quieter one of the two, it was lovely and relaxing, just what we'd wanted. The main pool ahd music and activities most of the time, but the hotel mostly caters for french and german, but as we were more bothered about relaxing this wasnt a problem. The food was basic mostly, and didnt have a huge variety, but they did cater for the majority, and also offered a small selection of morocan dishes to try. Breakfast wasnt anything to boast about but it was ok, we usually skipped it. the entertainment was funny, just because of how stupid it was, was mostly men dressing as women, but they were all friendly, and did make the effort to try to include everyone. Overall it was a good holiday for what we wanted and what we paid.

My husband, myself and my 3 year old daughter have just returned from Agadir and were due to stay ay Al Moggar. We checked in and were given a room which had cockroaches walking in the corridoor to the room and in the bathroom. The shower was broken and bed sheets filthy with stains on the main cover. We asked for another room and were given a key for another room with no one to accompany us. No one offered to help move our suitcases, pushchair etc. We walked into two people fast asleep and had to make a quick exit. Returned again to reception who made no apologies and told us there wasnt another room available. Until I created a fuss and stated that there is no way we would stay in a room full of cockroaches espicially with a child, they gave us another room which was not different from the first. My daughter was obviously not settled at seeing big cockroaches and neither were we. I rang our rep (which the hotel charged me a ridiculous amount for) who said he would try to sort things out for me the following morning, so after much deliberation (as we had paid for the hotel in advance) we stayed the night in dirty bed sheets and god knows what else walking around. Much to our relief our rep found us another hotel which although costed extra was a whole lot better, was a real shame we ended up wasting a day and going through this horrific experience. The lobby windows had dead flies on there and the staff are rude and incompetent. Even if I had been offered this hotel for free I would never ever return! Only good thing about the hotel was the location.

We were told this was a 4 star resort, and the experience we had to start with definitely wasn't! We were placed in a room that was unclean, ants on the bathroom floor, a smelly sink that didn't drain, a shower falling off the wall, and the door leading to the balcony didn't lock. We complained and we offered a different room, however only if we paid more money!! Considering we had already paid good money already, I found this totally unsatisfactory. Apart from that the grounds are fine, and it does have easy access to the beach. Not somewhere I would stay again as the breakfast was terrible - stale bread, stale pastries and trays of butter, with cordial instead of OJ. Definitely second rate, and not worth a stay. I think you'd get better value for money in any of the other hotels, and they are closer to the centre of Agadir anyway.

Al Moggar is a 3 star resort that is definitely a great value. Rooms are very basic and clean. We paid for an all inclusive 8 day price (500 euros a person) that included airfare from Amsterdam. We had two families. They had excellent staff and were great to our kids. Here are highs and lows: LOWS: 1. MAKE SURE you rent the safe when you get there! We left our stuff in the room and my wallet was missing US100 when we got back. No idea if it was the staff or it just fell out somewhere. 2. The food (buffet style) is pretty much the same everyday. Don't expect gourmet. This is great for families. Basic, clean cafeteria food. For example, the kids eat french fries, vegetables, chicken nuggets.... The parents eat chicken cutlets, salad bar, potatoes. I would not be able to handle more than 8 days of the same stuff though. There is a Moroccan and Italian restaurant but not included in the all inclusive price. Our price included beer and wine but the wine is awful and the beer tastes like miller lite. Again, no gourmet selection here. I heard the Odyssey (another resort) is the place to go for food. 3. No one on the staff speaks english. If you speak French than you'll have no problems. This resort serves mainly German, Dutch and French guests. 4. This is not "western style" management. You can go to Club Med or the Sofitel Agadir (and pay western prices) for smiling staff fluent in English that will jump at your every concern. For example, our safe was broken and they said they would come to fix it. A guy came 2 hours later and couldn't fix it. Eventually they got around to giving us a new safe. Our phone didn't work. We just made do. 5. The sewer system has problems because sometimes the smell would come out of the drains. We just opened the windows. Your right on the beach so there is a constant gentle breeze. HIGHS: 1. Location, location, location! You are 5 minutes walking from the beach and right on the main street with all the restaurants and stores. The location is really perfect. There is a little train that runs around agadir and stops right in front of the hotel. You can also walk 5 minutes to downtown agadir for more shops and bars. 2. For the price, you can't beat it. There are many resorts in Agadir but at this price, it is the only resort that will put you right on the beach in the middle of the main street. The other resorts on the beach are far off the main street or not even on the beach. If you have the extra money -- go for the Sofitel or Club Med-- it looks incredible. 3. The grounds of the resort are big and well maintained. The restaurant and the main reception area are on a high hill overlooking the beach. Beautiful views all day. If you can get the top two floors, you will have a beautiful view of the beach every morning. 4. Agadir is a resort. The actual city is depressing. If your goal is Moroccan culture -- forget it. Go to Marakesh. You go to Agadir to stay in the resort, read your books under the umbrella and fall asleep....

what i did not like there is no internet connection in the rooms so i had to go down to use it, and the garden and the swiming pool are awesome and the best was the staff were friendly

Having just returned from this hotel I would like to add some notes regarding previously comments on the rooms and food. Initially put in a smaller room we asked to be moved and were given a much more spacious room with great seaview. Earlier in our stay the food did lack a little in variety and presentation but as soon as the hotel filled a little (over easter) it all became much more exciting with a large choice and variety and all very tasty. Very friendly staff and entertainment team, meticulously well kept pool and garden - would certainly recommend it.

Just got back from a week at this hotel.First the good points Location was great just step out of back of hotel and you are on the seafront,there is agreat selection of restaurants here where you can just get a drink if you like and watch the world go by. All in all the hotel was good the staff were friendly, rooms basic but clean the gardens were really nice.If you wanted to change any money they have a seperate exchange booth which is open certain hours,though there is a cash machine in the hotel. Unfortunately they did not cater much for the English at the hotel as there were not many of us there.Breakfast was quite basic and evening meals were not up to much. We don't like to grumble and we do realise that they cater for the majority,we did not let this spoil our holiday. I would advise anyone going to the hotel to go B&B as there are loads of places to eat within walking distance and you can get a decent meal for around £10.00 for two people. They have got an English pub not too far from the Hotel (On the main road near the park),for anyone wanting to watch football this is the place though it is a bit pricey.Another really nice place is The Nile Bleu really great staff and nice food this is on the sea front. If you fancy something light to eat try the restaurant next to Happiness shop the shamwari and the kofta sandwiches are really good. All in all a nice relaxing holiday and not too much hassle would recommend Agadir.

nice hotel , staff friendly, room adequate, bathroom left much to be desired , outside area superb , only one drawback and that is that getting from our room to the hotel and restaurant endured a steep climb not good for the elderly and disabled. food was much the same every day the beach was kept immaculate but the one drawback was there were no sun beds

We have just returned from a last minute lets find the sun holiday and we were not disapointed. The hotel reception, restaurant, and bar are nicely decorated, furnished and spotless. The grounds are pleasant and well maintained and the pools are also well kept and very clean. Our room was adiquate, very clean but a bit bare, the beds, bath and all the towels supplied throughout the week need replacing. All the staff were helpful and friendly as were most of the Moroccan people we met, although beware the over friendly ones who want to give you a guided tour (especially of the fishing port which is a must to visit) as they obviously want payment. The food at the hotel ok and well presented although it was much the same every evening and if we returned it would be bed and breakfast (in saying this don't be put off the food was not as bad as others have indicated). Overall we had a great week & would certainly return and also recomend this hotel and resort

If you're going to stay at this hotel.. be prepared! First of all the room we stayed in was terrible, the beds were the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in, the bathroom was filthy and the room was tiny! We stayed bed & breakfast therfore did not have any self catering facilities. After waiting hours at reception to request a fridge as we had heard other holiday makers complaining about not having one, we were told that we could not have one! Petty I know, but in the boiling hot weather, its nice to have somehwere you can store some water. The shower in the bathroom (if you can call it that) was broken and I didnt even want to stand in the bath as it was filthy! There was no entertainment in the evenings, and the breakfasts we ate in the hotel, made us ill for the entire week! I think in general we had a bad experience, and judging by the other reviews on here, I think we must have stayed in the 'bad part' of the hotel! As our room certainly was not clean, spacious or homely in the slightest! I would not reccommend staying here, although if you do, DO not get the apartments at the back of the hotel! On the plus side, the location was lovely and the beach.. amazing! The weather in Sept, is very inpredictable. Had some really sunny days and some freezing cold days.. and be warned the evening temparture is very low, so bring lots of warm clothes for the meals out in the evening!

Fantastic, went for a week travel and chill out, mother daughter and grandson. something for all of us. The staff all of them excellent. The area good could not fault anything,recommend this place for people looking for the family to be happy. Have booked for January next year but will take some cereal for the children apart from that no faults always found something to eat even the little fella, he was well looked after by the staff . The beach is accross the road but we were happy round the pool, felt very safe in the area and more so in the hotel. Very Clean and friendly people food round the pool good value, good eating place just outside along the beach, nice relaxing atmosphere. Thank you to all the staff and see you next year.

we went to the al moggar for a family holiday we found it to be the best holiday we had ever had would recomend it to anyone and everyone i know would like to say thanks to the hotel staff and mohammed the owner . We liked it that much we are returning in april this year see you all soon guys if you want a good all round holiday go to al moggar there is something for everyone of all ages

Absolute perfection, the hotel was amazing, far more than i expected, The staff were so friendly, especially the pool staff. the room was very spacious. the food was great. perfect location. I really dont think i have anything bad to say about this place, me and my partner will be going back there. I think March - June time is the best time of the year to go. The food at the pool bar was great, would recomend all of the salads and especially the burger!!! If anybody asked me where they should spend their next holiday i would have to say the Al Moggar in Agadir.

Me and my wife visited this hotel in March 2007, the weather was fantastic the hotel was great, clean rooms but basic most rooms have great sea views, could be a lotof steps to some rooms, we went B&B there was plenty of choice and you could eat as much as you wanted. The pool area was great but the water was cold staff at the hotel was very good it is right on the sea front near plenty of eating places and bars. We will be going back as soon as possible.

Well let’s get the bad part over with first. Smokey, smokey, smokey! Why on earth would people want come down to breakfast with a fag dangling out of their jaw, leaning over the breakfast counter in the restaurant at 7.30 in the morning. Then try to beat the world record for number of fags smoked between orange juice and toast. Please you Al Moggar owners, create a smoking area far enough away with an air extractor. Ok, rant over. The hotel is deceptive when you arrive at the front; it looks like a small single storey building. Go inside into its cavernous reception with views out to sea. The rooms are of a good size, clean, tidy with free aircon but no kettle for that early morning cup of coffee. We were on near the top block on the right within earshot of the main pool; there was hardly any traffic noise but a bit of noise from the hotel’s equivalent of jolly redcoats, music and games but not too bad really. This main pool has a snack bar and has fun things going on. There is a smaller and quieter pool on the other side of the hotel. Both have loungers and mats and apart from the occasional German sneaking down before breakfast with their towel there is no problem in securing one. Out of the gate by the main pool and you are onto a huge beach with cafes and a shop selling bottled water, gifts, snacks and a large selection of fags for the breakfast puffers. The waiting staff, cleaning staff and bar staff are courteous, friendly and efficient. The reception staff I found particularly good when I had a problem with currency. The food is ok, better than other places I have stayed. Cooked breakfasts were fair with fried egg, omelette, do’ nuts and pancakes, otherwise it was croissant, bread, cheeses, olives etc. The evening meals were varied enough, rabbit tagine, griddled fish steak, escalope, beef and chicken with a pretty but unvaried selection of salads/vegs. The themed Moroccan restaurant tries a bit to hard and it not truly traditional, their Italian restaurant has more honest food. It is only a 10-minute walk from the front of the hotel into the centre of Agadir but coastal walk is better but waiters plying their restaurants’ll pounce you on. ‘Thank you, maybe tomorrow’ or ‘we’ve just eaten’ is sufficient to fend them off. The ones to look out for are the “guides” particularly around Place Al Amal and the Uniprix shop. They come in various guises – a journalist, a bank manager, a dentist who just happens to bump into you and starts talking. He will take you tourist virgins to a special Berber/Herbalist/Traditional shop that you will most fortunate to see with, of course, his inside knowledge. If you want to part with a serious amount of cash as well as a gratuity to your “guide” be polite and decline. Agadir is not a pretty place but the people are proud. Go to the Berber Museum on Passage Ait Souss; enjoy a coffee and pastry at Yacout on R.d29 Fevrier, go and drool over the food in the souk. Take the noddy train on a round trip, 16 dinah, it’s good to get your bearing from. The Kasbah is good for the views but is tourist rip off with fake Blue Men, camels, snakes etc. Always carry a pocket of change for tips, everything has its price but hey, even a holiday in the UK is not free from touts, beggars and vomit competitions on a Saturday nights. Would I go back to Al Moggar, well yes, if is transported to Essaouira, Taghazoute or Imouzzer. But for a family fun and sun holiday with the odd excursion out it just the right place. Remember French is more widespread than English in the hotel and out so here’s a chance to rediscover that lost language from school days. Enjoy.

Fantastic hotel and resort, staff lovely, food good and clean rooms. Will be going back next year.

The hotel is in a good location with a gate to the beach. It is very clean and in a good state of repair. We were unable to get a reservation at the Moroccon restaurant and the Italian restaurant wasn't open so we had 7 nights and days of buffet meals of which there wasn't a big variety but it was ok. Most of the waiting staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you, unfortunately the same can't be said of the reception staff. There were only a handful of English people staying in the hotel, the majority of the guests were French. The entertainment was very disappointing as it was all in French and we couldn't understand a word. It's not a bad hotel if you're not interested in a wide variety of food and want to spend the evening out of the hotel. We were disappointed and wouldn't return.

i am 16yrs old and i was 15 when i stayed at this hotel last year. I have to say it was the best holiday i have ever been on - seriously. Altho i do agree the food was rather plain what the hotel had was excellent.

Me and my mum have just returned from a week in Le Tivoli, Agadir. The rooms are spacious with a balcony with seating in and out. There are a lot of steps in this hotel so be aware of this when you book as for someone with difficulty walking this hotel will not be ideal. The staff could do no more for you, they were excellent. The hotel was in ideal setting, there was bars and shops across the road, but watch it when you cross as the moroccans ignore zebra crossings!

Arrrived at the hotel not knowing what to expect. Pleased to advise we thoroughly enjoyed out stay at the hotel. Much better than any other 3 star (and some 4 star) hotels we've stayed in in the past. I understand many of the rooms have recently been modernised and I think ours had been done within the past few months. Room was very large. Entertainment was not up to much on most nights though. I would highly recommend people to go on the 'Berber Night' which costs about £18.00 per person inc food and drink. Taxi to/from the airport cost around £9 each way and is much better than the bus the travel agent would have provided at £25 return. There do appear to be some nicer hotels around Agadir which I would probably try if I were to visit again, however, I would not object to staying at Al Moggar again.

i stayed in al moggar in nov 2006 and im going back march 16 2007, i would reccomend this hotel to anyone, the rooms were excellent always kept clean with free a/c and a tv which my little brother made a lot of use of and the bathrooms are huge. The hotel staff were excellent, very friendly and couldnt do enough for you, we made very good friends with most of the staff which is the main reason for our return. There were always lots of activities for kids and adults during the day at the pool and even though the night time entertainment was mostly in french i stll found it vey good, there is a lot of steps but i didnt find this a problem and as for carrying the cases upon arrivel and leaving someone was there to carry them straight away. Dont be put off by some of the bad reviews on here ( there is no pleasing some people)

The hotel was in a great location to the beech and fantastic resturants. All the staff were lovely and kept myself and my daughter entertained througout the day and evening. Very reasonably priced. Would recommend for familys .

We have literally just returned from a two week holiday in Agadir Morocco, where we stayed at Club Al Moggar. We spent the New Year there and returned on 12th January 2007. Club Al Moggar itself is a well kept, clean and freindly hotel. It has a good position on the beach front (you just have to cross the main road to get to the beach and in all is about a two minute walk from the hotel) and the rep that brought us in from the airport told us it was one of the best hotels in the resort and that she lived there. We managed to get a ground floor apartment next to the pool which was good as we had heard that a lot of people didn't like the steps up to the apartments above ours. We have two small children (aged one and three) and didn't relish the idea of bumping buggies up lots of stairs. The rooms are cleaned daily and in the mornings there are always gardeners doing the watering and people milling about cleaning. The staff are friendly and attentive and we found the evening entertainment quite good for the children. For the adults there is the bar and some light music each night. The only downside we found to the hotel was the food. We stayed on a half board basis and unfortunatley didn't find the food to our satisfaction. Our children wouldn't eat a thing and we ended up going to the Marjane (the nearest Asda type establishment) to get the kids some cereal! There was normally a 'salad bar' some trays of rice and other staples like pasta and a few bits of vegetables. There was also a cooked piece of meat like chicken or fish but for some reason our children wouldn't eat a thing. The supermarket is about a ten minute taxi ride from the hotel and here you can find everything you need if you have fussy eaters. Bread and cheese etc are quite inexpensive but if you want branded cereals and other branded foods be prepared to pay over the odds. On the premisis you will find a hairdresser who caters for both sexes and a massusse. We used the services of the hairdresser who was very good but a little heavy handed! The pool was very cold so there were only a few brave souls who threw themselves in but you woud normally find the children clustered around it. The outside bar opens at 11am and closed beofre 5pm. You can get snacks and drinks from there but it is very limited. In the apartment you will find four single beds, a very good sized bathroom, a television and storage area. The floors are tiled and are swept dialy by the maids. The rooms are substantial sizes and open out onto a patio on the ground floor or a balcony if you get a room above. There isn't really a lot to do in this hotel and older children, I feel, would get quite bored. There is a games room but the games are not cheap and are over with very quickly. Getting out and about is very easy. Taxi's usually que outside the hotel for your convienience and the doorman will normally flag a taxi down for you. Hire car shops are just across the road and there are frequent bus stops along the road. Club Al Moggar in all is a nice place to stay. The Gardens are beautiful, the views of the sea are glorious and the place is immaculatley clean.

Were 2 girls aged 30 and 40 who have just got back in the last few days from staying at Club Al Moggar. The hotel is really lovely, we were lucky enough to have a beautiful sea view from our room which was on the top floor. There are no lifts in the hotel so be prepared to walk up quite a few steps to your room if youre on the top, this wasnt a problem for us but I wouldnt reccommend for the infirm, unfit or disabled. The whole of the hotel was really clean, couldnt fault it. The food was buffet style and in all honesty not that great but it was edible plus you had the option of booking into their Morrocan or Italian restaurant instead of the main restaurant as part of your half board/all inclusive deal. We only tried the italian and the meal was beautiful. The food at the pool bar was very good. The staff are all very friendly and very helpful, they speak english but Morocco is a predominantly French and Arabic speaking country so brush down your old French books from school, it really does help to know a few key phrases. The entertainment poor and they spoke mainly in French throughout. The daytime entertainment by the pool was reasonable, pool games, table tennis, darts but not much to entertain children. The evening was mainly dancers miming to well known musicals such as Grease and after the first night of it we chose to go out for walks instead. You can book excursions with your rep, Marrakech is a 2 day trip, very tiring and not good if youre only there for a week. The 'Humps and Bumps' camel ride was lots of fun, be prepared for a sore back afterwards we laughed so hard though, we also booked a massage (not at the hotel although this is available) and it was truly out of this world. 2hrs, tip to toe of pure unadulterated bliss for £20! You MUST try this. We also went to the Souk which is a 15min ride in a 'petit' orange taxi from the hotel costing about 30DIR(£2) its an experience to say the least, be prepared for the guides trying to show you round for money, just say no to them, they do go away, be prepared for them trying to get you to go into their stall, theyre very persistent (''cheaper than Asda!!!'' and ''Fish and chips in here come see!'') bartering is a MUST, ask the price then half it, start from there, if your not happy then walk away, guaranteed they chase after you for the sale and you get it at the price you want. There are a few shops in the resort and these have set prices so no bartering, you pay the price you see, its good to check out the prices here first before you go to the Souk so you dont get ripped off. Try having Henna done, we had ours done in a shop for about £3.50 and it was amazing (the Henna woman on the beach wanted to charge us £10 for the same thing so shop around) Agadir has lots of restaurants on the sea front, no bars, if youre 2 women like us you will get lots of male attention, just smile, walk away and say no thankyou, but if youre into that sort of thing then you'll be in youre element!!!! We had so many offers of marriage, going for drinks etc, when we said no though they do go away, and are respectful of that. The beach is beautiful, walk about 15mins down the beach and you can go into the private cordenend off areas and hire a sun lounger for about 20DIR (£1.50) for the day and the touts and sellers are not allowed in here to bother you. The weather was beatiful the whole time we were there. Agadir is a lovely place and I'm glad I tried Morocco. I wouldnt go back but only because there are so many places in the world to see I never go back to the same place twice.

We have just returned back from Agadir in Morocco. We stayed in the Club Al Moggar Hotel and it was the best holiday we have ever had. We have visited many different places around the world and this was our first visit to Morocco. Originally we booked for Egypt and for different reasons changed it over to Agadir. It was the best move we ever made. 4 of us went - all girls at different ages, 49, 23, 14 &15 yrs and every single one of us enjoyed it the same. The staff are fantastic and cant do enough for you, this is ALL staff: cleaners, maids, animation team, bar, restaurant, pool - ALL! The food wasnt all that great in the hotel but was edable. We ate out away from the hotel on a few occasions and the prices were brilliant as was the food. There is a massive souk (market) about 20 mins from the hotel and all you ahve to do is take a txi there which are more than reasonably priced. So girls, if u love ur bags and shoes like us - its a good place to go although when u first arrive it can be a littl off putting as first impressions are not that great but wait til u walk through that part before u judge! The gardrens and the views of the beaches are amazing and there wasnt one day we didnt have nothing to do. We are all quite fussy as to where we go on holiday and the hotels we stay in and we dont have a single complaint about the place. The Animation Team are absolutley amazing and continously interacted with the guests - games, dancing, shows (and ladies - the guys are gorgeous) We have come home very depressed as we didnt want to come home at all. Our visit was a 2 week stay from 13/10/06 - 27/10/06. We have just booked to return to Morocco for New year for a week and again next October for 2 more weeks. We met and had a fabulas time with most of the animation team and have kept in touch with a few of them who are looking forward to our return as much as we are. The hotel is gorgeous and exceptionally clean. The weather was great as well which always makes ur holiday anyway. Its a fab holiday for all ages and we all reccomend it!

2 families consisting of eight peole stayed during Auguat - firstly the morroccans go in August because it is the coolest time of year - if you are looking for sunshine forget it - although it is warm , but very warm still. Hotel reception abismal in appearance also staff support very poor, nothing is considered important. The rooms we had were spacious and met all of our needs apart from the air conditioning in one which pumped out heat instead even though the engineers deemed it repaired on more than one occasion. The electricty was also a bit dodgy in room 215 as lights blew on one occasion fortunately the occupant was an electrician and managed to repair it - we were still waiting for the hotel staff to deal with this on departure - a number of days later!!!! Food was repetative and did not accomodate for children and it may have helped if there had been some labelling system to identify what was on offer. Adults were well catered for although menu a little limited. The animation team were very good although the kids club was targeted for french speaking children and as a result the young children in our party excluded themselves. The hotel location is ideal in a very relaxed end of the resort in close proximity to the beautiful beach and sea. Only on our return did we find things amiss, clothing and jewellery items had been removed from the two rooms on the morning of our day of departure. So if you have enything that is eyecatching either clothing or unusual jewellery not necessarily valuable items ensure you check on it regularly or keep all items locked up including your clothing even underwear especially expensive bras!!!! As the items were removed on the last day which is usually a bit frantic and you tend not to be fully aware of all of your belongings other than your valuable things we did not discover until our return to the UK that the items had been taken on contacting our insurance company were told that we were not covered as we had not reported the theft to the Moroccan police. Be very wary . We can only assume that it was the hotel staff that had removed the items. Otherwise the holiday was a great success Morrocco is beautiful and the locals are always kind caring considerate and helpful. If you are booking trips have faith in the beach traders we had a great 4x4 trip with a gang of 28 fantastic.

Don't be put off by some reviews, we loved al moggar, it was clean with sea views and well kept gardens, Weather was great late 30's ,quiet a few steps around , rooms a good size with tv an A/C at no charge. pool was clean and mostly empty with sun loungers plentiful. Staff very helpful and friendly, Food wasn't the best, breakfast being worst but we ate out only 4 times (resaurants plentiful all cheap enough mcdonalds & pizzahut near by) we viewed what was on offer first . Entertainment fairly low key daytime, evening shows good . The hotel was a little bit away from main shopping area but it was nice to walk about to see what the resort had to offer, taxis cheap enough all journeys between 1-2 pound and the wally trolley about 1 pound for a 40 minute tour around agadir you can jump off and get on with one ticket well worth it, souk worth a visit if you like to haggle but go after youv'e been browsing the shops first to get a idea of prices, a few people got caught out paying more at the souk .Beach is great just across the road very hot sand but very clean with a few sellers around. One thing is there is no TEA or BACON any where so take a travel kettle and teabags if you must have a cuppa, a must try the massage 22 pound for 2 hours brilliant head to toe . ENJOY the culture of morocco its not britain . Also the hotel is closing for 3 months end of october for a refurb on the rooms, resaurant , receptoin & another pool

well al moggar is great hotel located on beach front and near town centre very good enterment at night choice of food could b better very friendly nd cheap for drinks

We had 2 rooms booked for our holiday, rooms 425 and 521, on the day we arrived at the resort room our problems started. Firstly in room 425 the AC was on and the remote to it wouldn't work so we couldn't do anything, this was reported to reception right away, they promised some one will come and see us. Used the remote from other room. Day 2 still waiting for some one, called reception, still waiting, towels not enough for the room was told not enough available. Day 3 same story went to reception in anger eventually they did some thing about it. Check out time is noon we instructed reception 3 days earlier, that we would like to extend our time for checkout till evening as our flight is late was told not a problem let them know on the day. Morning of departure was told not a problem come back at noon with room keys. Went back and noon was told we had to check out as the rooms were all full, we had to pay the extension fee and given a smaller room 2 beds for 5 people to share from noon till 7pm. The hotel it self is very nice, near to the beach and some splended restaurants near bye. The hotels pool from the pictures looks brilliant do not be deceived by the pictures, it is nice but not at all brilliant. The entertainment show was very poor. The hotel has a massage parlour, you can book an appointment but do not be saddened when you to turn up for the appointment to find no one there. This was not my first visit to Agadir and I have stayed in many hotels around the world with all *ratings, for a 3 * this hotels staff do not give the service one would expect.

The hotel is a 3 star hotel consisting of a number of 3 storey blocks each withabout 30 rooms giving a toal of must be over 400 rooms. Some of the rooms are fairly newly refurbished others older. We were in one of the older rooms which was basic but certainly adequate seeing as we did not go on holiday to spend much time in the room. The room was clean and kept clean by the maid with towels changed every day. In the two weeks we were there i saw one cockroach in the room and a couple of small spiders which for a country with this climate is excellent. The hotel complex is built on the side of a hill with reception being at the top there a lots of stairs but due to the layout of the hotel a lift would be impractical. therefore it is not suitable really for anyone with mobility problems. However for a small tip the proter will carry your luggage to your room- and is happy to accept a tip in english or euro if you do not have any small dirhem. The hotel bar is reasonable with soft drinks being 10 Dirhem (about 60p) but bigger than a UK can. A small beer is just over a pound (18 dirhem). The hotel is either half board or all inclusive (though it was all French and german that werre all-in). The pool area is not as big as it could be for a hotel fo this size but it was adequate a big square divided into 2 very shallow pools a third shallow pool leading into the deep pool which was about 25 m by 10m. You had to be up early to reserve a sunbed as by 8 they were all gone. The restaurant was good but you needed to avoid it after 9 in the morning for breakfast as it was too busy- the evening meal was held in two sittings we always went to the first one and had no problems getting a table. The food was generally good with a lot iof fish being served at the evening meal though it was a buffet with other food as well. I tended to stick to the moroccan food served up and never had a bad meal, they also had some food that catered for my daughters (fussy eaters). Half board entitles you to one evening meal per week either in the morccan restaurant in the hotel or the italian on the seafront. You had to book these in the morning. We did not eat in either as the moroccan one didn't cater for my fussy children and the italian one had a very limited choice. The location of the hotal is not great it is right on the edge of the tourist area though it is certainly within walking distance (my daughter doesn't walk far and she managed it easily) if you go out of the back entrance on to the seafront there are a number of good restaurants including our favourite a lebanese one within a couple of minutes walk lunch for a family of four with drinks worked out at a maximum of £15 in the lebanese restaurant slightly further away (10-15 mins) is macdonalds and pizza hut if you feel the need with another half dozen restaurants in between. the main touristy area is just a bit further on. There are two markets a very small municipal market within walking distance - a few souvenir shops in there and a few more around it including uniprix a fixed price souvenir shop. the second market is souq alhad which is about 5k away from the hotel this is a bigger motre traditional souq with everything for sale for locals and tourists a petit taxi costs 15 dirhem each way but only takes three people the grand taxi is a bit more expensive but you need to agree a price with the driver before you set off. yes everyone will try and rip you off but this is their way of life and they will try the same with their own. You can get things very cheap if you haggle. If you go out of the tourist areas things are even cheaper four soft drinks will be about £1.20 throw a beer in and it is just iover 2 quid. Not all restaurants outside the tourist area will sell beer though. The only downside for me to this hotel was the entertainment i found them very difficult to understand when speaking english - there were probably less than a quarter of the people staying there from UK. The main language after arabic being french this was to be expected. there is also a third language Berber which is spoken by a lot of the hotel staff and local people. We encounterde no problems at all on holiday in the hotel or outside and had a very enjoyable time.

Club Al Moogar has wonderful views of the beach, nice gardens and a great pool area but that's about it.

Well we arrived at our hotel on the 21st June it was around eleven in the evening and it took forever for the receptionists to acknowlege we were there to get our keys. In the morning we were awoken by loud bangs from the doors as people we getting up to go to breakfast at half six in the morning, the maids then kept coming into our room to clean. So after a long journey to our holiday resort from England we had to then get up at seven as we had no chance of sleeping. We then went to breakfast only to find cats lurking around the restaurant, flies everywhere, the food was basic. We were told not to eat salads or vegetables we hadn't peeled ourselves and this was all the buffet consisted of. Eggs were cooked raw and if you didn't want a drink from the waiter then don't expect a pleasant response. This was suppose to be a relaxing holiday but as the rooms all have doors onto a corridor you can hear absolutely everything from 6am-2am so the best chance of some sleep is on the plane on the way home. The water from the bathroom was brown sometimes so do not drink it many people had bad stomachs. i would never go back to this very aged hotel and the travel agents can expect a complaint along with many others from what i can gather from other holiday makers who were also there.

our room flooded each time we used the shower they came and dried the carpet with some kind of vacuum cleaner, this happened 3 times. Food was awfull and flies everywhere. Tables were not cleaned quick enough. We seemed to be the only english couple there. This hotel definately seems to cater for the french hence the name 'LE TIVOLI', should have guessed really. Payed extra to move to Occidental Carribbean down the road, rooms there are basic, but definately worth the money, the staff there are sooooooo friendly and cannot do enough for you, entertainment great and food, well what can i say, didnt stop eating. would defo recommend this hotel especially if you have children. Please dont stay at TIVOLI you WILL regret it.

Well after reading the comments on this hotel, I did not expect a lot but was pleasantly surprised. First impressions of the hotel were that is was large and very clean, the rooms were spacious and we had a lovely sea view as requested, however we had to climb 52 steps from the road to the room to get the sea view, the lower rooms had pool view with fewer steps, worth bearing in mind if you stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and the maids did an excellent job even providing us with fresh flowers one day which was a pleasant surprise. There was entertainment nightly but this was late for those staying with young children, the childrens club is active but you may need to check with the animation staff what is on when as our son only used the mini golf each afternoon. There was a currency exchange facility which was useful but no signs to say no currency exchange on Sundays at all, also you cannot change travellers cheques on Sundays at the western union in the resort, so take some cash just in case of emergencies. There is a cash machine in the hotel which takes english cards to that was a bonus. The waiters are all very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was excellent but the hotel has a strict policy on not taking food out so if you have an early start, make it even earlier for breakfast. The meal at night was fine, a tangine of various meats, a cold cut or hot joint and a variety of fish on the barbeque (changed nightly). All the food is beautifully presented and the chefs even did butter sculptures which were amazing, the food was always hot and tasty if sometimes a little odd combinations. I have never tasted cous cous like it, this was served at least 3 times per week, the food is on a buffet basis with fresh fruit served at both breakfast and dinner. We made use of the snack bar by the pool and this was also of good quality and reasonable value. The pizzeria is worth a visit, there is a free meal included with the half board but this is a fixed menu, 4 seasons pizza, chicken escalope and icecream but still very nice. The hotel is literally accross the road from the beach and a lovely view of the Kasbah can be seen from most of the rooms, it is within walking distance of the main strip and a short taxi ride from the town centre. The noddy train or orient express is very pricy but worth it for the children, would recommend one ride on it but not worth a daily ride, use the taxis. Beware shop keepers inviting you in to "look around" this is a lure to get you in and then trying to get you to buy something you really do not want. Well worth a visit is the city zoo or bird garden, dirt cheap and lots to see. Well worth a visit and only 15 minutes walk from the hotel. The pool was clean and attended from 9am to 6pm with huge shallow section for the kids and a section just as big for the swimmers. All in all a very nice hotel in a good location.

rooms were spotless and the hotel staff all very friendly. The rooms were big. They seemed basic but you didn't need anything else. take your own hairdrier irons etc. No telly for those who would want to watch it. The pool and grounds were great. The pool is safe for younger ones. Lots and lots of steps which could be a problem for infirm or push chairs. The restraunt was very poor and I'd recommend going b&b. breakfast is ok. There are loads of places to eat nearby which are very cheap. Lots to see nearby. Watch out for the taxis. quick to rip you off1 Check they understand where you want them to take you otherwise you'll be taken all over the place. All in all a lovely holiday. Temp in 30s all week. often started off overcast so do stuff in the morning while its cool

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Al-Moggar.Two adults - children aged 8 and 12. We booked Morroco as we wanted some sunshine and a bit of culture. The hotel was OK.We booked a family room which was bigger than others used in the past and was comfortable and cleaned daily by a maid who even made us a washing line from string whilst we were out. The pool was nice - cold but nice and there was an animation team based in the hotel who came round asking for volunteers for crazy golf/water polo/football etc (but no pressure for those of us who just wanted to sit and relax) The hotel restaurant was poor - shabby and not much choice - no chiller cabinet - sometimes cats in there walking around.It was also chaotic as other nationalities do not queue as we Brits do ! There is a swap available once a week to a Pizzeria which is spotless and wortn a visit.We also chose to eat out on the last night which was cheap and the restauarnt overlooked the sea. The entertainment in the hotel was directed at the french and I did not hear English spoken once so that was a let down too. The 2 day trip to Marrakech was absolutely brilliant - real must - well worth the money. The locals did not pester like I thought they would - they took no for an answer and moved on. We enjoyed the experience and the sunshine and may go back but probably not to Al-Moggar.

We went from feb 10th to feb 17th, weather great, 25-30 degrees all week. brilliant welcome and organisation by the Sunset rep. kids are 11, 14 adults 23, 34, 48, 48. trip to the camel ranch brilliant!Top of the Kasbah- breathtaking! we all enjoyed practicing our french and getting used to the different cultures who live and holiday there. The staff were exellent in making us all feel welcome, expecially when they realised we were open to a bit of a laugh! (hubby ended up on stage as part of the entertainment!) The rooms were big and cleaned every day, loved the walled partition between the lads and us, they could watch their dvd's later in the evening without disturbing two old fogies! O.k.the pool was cold, but the lads didnt notice, well, we enjoyed every minute anyway!

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the AL Moggar. Overall the holiday was fine. The staff are friendly, rooms clean enough however the buffet restaurant is appauling. Dirty table cloths which resemble old fashioned blankets, grey napkins which should be white. The food is not apetising salad not kept in chiller etc and the general decor, chairs etc very poor. We chose to eat out most nights. Food outside very nice and reasonably priced. The hotel is in a nice position on the beach however a fair walk if you want to lay on sunbeds. The Moroccan people are very friendly and do not hassle you as i thought they might. Must do trip is overnight in Marakecch no place like that on earth ! Weather for february brilliant sunshine every day!

Hotel le tivoli had a great surrounding i loved everyone there they were so freindly

We have just come back from 2weeks at the Al Moggar the rooms were spotless and well looked after, with aircon/heaters (no charge). The food was good but not hot enough (cold plates) and catered for all tastes. The staff were all frendly and most spoke some english. Entertainment most evenings. The hotel is at the far end of the resort but withing walking distance of the center,a good position for the promonade, with good eating places either side of the hotel entrance, we enjoyed our stay here and would go back, a good value for money hotel.

Have just booked a holiday for 2006 and twas my first time at using the tripadvisor facility. Being curious I looked at where we honeymooned last year to see what other people thought of the Al Moggar. Wow. Cannot believe the poor review given by the last guy. Perfect reception and concierge were on hand to carry your luggage wherever you needed to go - all we did was tip them 10 dirham now n again (70p) - what's wrong with that? Room was superb - huge and clean with 3 single beds - don't know who the 3rd bed was for - this was our honeymoon! Yep, we had to push 2 beds together but had great fun finding out who's turn it was to fall down the middle. Pool area fantastic and crazy golf brill. French were annoying. Yes, steps all over the Al Moggar so not good for people with mobility difficulties. Room cleaned spotless every day including towels and linen. Great place for cat lovers and they do sell Friskies in the Uniprix supermarket - just a short walk away. Yep Macdonalds is 10 minute walk away but hey, who goes abroad to eat at Macci D's??? Sad. Water is on sale in the hotel and at shops just out of the beach exit of the hotel! Food acceptable but not brill. We chose to eat out a few times in our second week. Go to the Chinese up the hill. All the staff in the hotel were fantastic - service, polite, helpful and welcoming. Entertainment only acceptable but we just enjoyed wandering up and down the sea front in the evenings as the atmosphere was beautiful. The locals seem to come alive at nite and meet up for their social gatherings - a wonderful community. To sum the hotel up - and bearing in mind this was important as it was our honeymoon and my husbands first time abroad. We will be going back again. We loved it. All I would say is accept the country and culture for how it is. The gardens are great too - topiary all over the place - couches and cars and allsorts made out of the trees!! Don't be put off by the other reviews.

We loved the location its perfect.

We moved out before our first night to the Anezi. We had asked for a hotel in the centre of the resort but the Al Moggar is anything but. We found one shop to buy water and a lot of restaurants which were closed during the day. It's about a 15/20 minute walk to McDonalds which is right on the edge of the tourist area, and about another 10 minutes from there to the decent restaurants. The hotel itself was ok, very big balconies but an awful lot of steps, and we're fairly fit, so definately not advisable if you have young children or mobility problems. The reception area is above all of the rooms (thehotel is built into the hillside) so you have to carry your suitcase up and down a large winding flight of stairs, with no conceiege (or lift) to help. The room itself was awful. Run down and dirty (the maid hadn't been when we arrived at 1.30pm). Only one light in the bathroom worked and although the maintenance man had a fiddle with it, he couldn't fix it, which made the bath and shower very dark as they was half concealed by a tiled wall. Many of the bathroom tiles were broken and would have been dangerous for small children. The drawers in the room were broken and wouldn't open so we would have had nowhere to put our underwear either, without stacking it in the wardrobe. If you have read the forums you'll realise there is refurbishment work going on. This is still happening although we weren't advised by the tour operator and assumed this had been completed. Many of the rooms by the pool were taped off with building work going on (looked like new patio doors and bathrooms), and there was also a fountain being built by the pool. Although the Al Moggar is cheap you can get a world of difference for about another £50 each.

Pool was a bit cold. but everyone was soooo nice. definatley want to go back. Nourdein + Mohammed reps rock!!!!!!!!

our stay in the al moggar made are holiday complete the city of agadir is wonderful and most enjoyable part of the holiday was staying in the al moggar and meeting so many nice and wonderful friends we will be returning shortly we llllooovvveeedd it the amenities are fantastic and it is close to all the great bars and restraunts of agadir and right on the beech for someone who want to experience a diffrent culture it is a great first time holiday in africa i'm sure many people if they try it will return so go and enjoy

After waiting for an age for the reception to notice us we were shown to a room which was totally unready for guests. The beds were all unmade and dirty. Rubbish scattered and dirty bathroom. Telephone did not work in room. No apologies. Avoid.

As you would expect when booking a 3* hotel, the room was quite basic with regards to furniture but was spotlessly clean. The reception, bar and pool area are spacious and kept to a high standard. All staff members are very polite and friendly and can't do enough to help. We had trouble with our hot water, which I reported to reception, the plumber was there within 5 minutes and sorted the problem straight away. We booked B & B and I would say the breakfast is a little disappointing with limited choice. For lunch and evening meals we ate in a different restaurant every day and we never had a bad meal. We recommend Le Nil Blue and L'Jardin D'Eau. Overall we would rate the hotel highly for a cheap 3* hotel. Tips for a good hols 1) USE THE HOTEL SAFES. there were 5 burglaries in the week when we were there, including ourselves (£70). 2) Take the 2 day trip to Marakesh, not to be missed.
